The following few weeks strolled by, and that's when you started to notice the odd behavior Erwin had developed. It started off with Erwin getting up in the middle of the night, every night to go off to god knows where. Then followed his attitude change. He became more easily upset and disoriented.

There were many instances where even the simplest questions would set him off. But after some of his outbursts, he'd quickly calm down and apologize profusely. But then there were times he wouldn't and he would storm out of the room filled with rage. You grown to fear him, approaching him spiked your anxiety more than it could ever be itched. Talking to him was a guessing game.

Even the a good majority of the scouts picked up on Erwin's antics. To a point where they started to talk. Word got around and somehow it leaked into the interior. Nile Dok had heard from 'a little Birdy' in which captain Levi had to beg him to open his fat mouth to Zachary. And we all know Levi was never one to beg.

You sat in Captain Levi's chair spinning in thought while Section Commander Hange planted herself on the desktop. All whilst captain Levi paced aggressively back and forth his office.

"So shorty, what are we going to do?" Hange asked after a good amount of time of silence circled the room. Levi stopped his pacing and sent Hange a glare.

"I don't know, four eyes. You tell me." He Spat as he exhaled longingly.

"If Zachary finds out, Erwin is done for. How are we so sure Nile Dok is gonna keep his mouth shut?" You asked as you stopped spinning in the chair to regain your steadiness.

"We can't be sure. From what Erwin's told me, he's not one to keep his word. More of a kiss ass to rise to the top given the opportunity." Levi grumbled as he propped himself up against one of the walls that enclosed the room.

"Can't we just deem him crazy, who's gonna believe him?" Hange smirked and Levi instantly rolled his eyes.

"Jesus Christ" Levi growled.

"You know sir, Hange is onto something here. Without any proof of eyewitnesses. Nile can't provoke his case." You spoke as your eyes fluctuated from Levi and Hange.

"We can't confine Erwin to a room, you both have witnessed his erratic behavior. How do you supposed we contain him?" Levi cocked his head as he rose a brow.

"I'm not saying to contain him but we do everything in our power to keep Erwin from entering the interior until we figure out what's wrong and how to fix it." You spoke as you tapped your pointer finger on the edge of Levi's desk.

"We know what's wrong." Levi spat. "Turning him into a fucking titan is what happened."

"Now Levi." Hange began. "We don't know exactly. It's just based of observation. What part of it is it really? Becoming a titan? Being a titan shifter? Or is it because of the old carriers memories flooding his brain? We don't know because we can't get a clear word out of Erwin without almost losing our souls."

"And who knows what could happen if we push him too far, what if he transforms? Because he has yet to control that area of it. We're screwed." You spoke as you lowered your head at the thought. Levi groaned frustrated beyond compare.

"This was a mistake." Levi spoke lowly as his dimmed grey eyes scanned the floor beneath him. "I'm 99% confident we lost Erwin that day." Those words stung but you made no attempt to make it noticeable.

"Maybe.." you whispered to yourself.

"We'll figure it out, we always do" Hange spoke trying to bring light of the situation at hand.

"I want neither of you to speak anything of Erwin. To anyone until we can figure this shit out. Am I clear?" Levi ordered. You quickly nodded and hanged parted her lips to speak but Levi brought his finger up, pointing directly at her cutting her off before she even started. "Any if anyone brings it up while either of you are around, shut it down." He finished before he exited the office.

"Alright well I'm off to go run some tests on Jaeger, you'll know where to find me" she beamed as she hopped of the desktop and strutted to exit the office. You were left there in silence, left to your thoughts to eat you alive. Erwin had became such a stranger to you these past few weeks and it was something you couldn't fathom. You stood from the chair and exited the office trekking your way towards the mess hall.

"YN" a distinct voice called out and you stopped in your tracks whilst you turned your body towards the voice. The voice was of course none other than Erwin. But on a good day, you'd be able to know it was him. But today, it sounded nothing like. The way he said your name. Just wasn't something that sat right with you.

"Hey Erwin? What's up?" You pushed out as you took a few steps closer to him

"I haven't seen you all day" he spoke, his voice soft in fear the conversation could take a turn quickly.

"I'm sorry, I've just been super busy today. I was going to grab some food and I was planning on stopping by afterwards" you spoke your little white lie. Erwin's eyes fell to the floor as if he were in conflict with his mind.

"Why'd you exit out of Levi's office?" He suddenly questioned with force. Your eyes slightly widened and your body jumped at the quick tone change.

"He had to talk to me about something." You quickly responded. Erwin scoffed and he shook his head. You gulped down the forming lump in your throat.

"And what was it that he had to talk to you about?" He urged the question as he approached you slowly.

"Uh...Something confidential sir. Hes planning on telling you soon" you choked out knowing for a fact, no matter the answer....Erwin was going to flip.

"You're sleeping with him aren't you?" Erwin spoke as his rage started to level up slowly.

"Jesus Erwin no!" You shot back at the accusation. "Do you not trust me?"

"No" he quickly spoke and your heart dropped. You snapped, absolutely fed up with this. You missed your Erwin more than anything but this guy was pushing your buttons.

"What the fuck is your god damn problem lately? Why do you have to pick a bone with every fucking person you talk to?!" You spat unintentionally but you were fired up. So much for not talking about Erwin or whatever Levi had said. "We aren't your enemy!"

"Who do you think you are talking to your commander this way?" He growled as the blue in his eyes nearly faded. You gasped as his large hands gripped your upper arms tightly. He shook your lightly. "A scout like you has NO place in my regiment if you're going to disrespect me." He was basically yelling at this point. The people in the neighboring mess hall as scurried to the hallway entrance to be nosey. Erwin's grip tightly on your body basically restricting you from moving.

"Erwin!" Levi's voice spoke through the crowd and Erwin's head snapped towards Levi. "You're hurting her." He spoke softly. Erwin shot his eyes to his grip on you. His eyes fell onto your face as it was filled with fear and pain. He gasped quickly and released you instantly. He had such pressure on you, you almost tumbled at the sudden release.

"I'm sorry, god....y/n...Im sorry..." Erwin mumbled sending you one last glance before he scurried off down the hallway towards his room. You sat there absolutely baffled and in shock. Levi approached you and knelt next to you.

"Are you okay?" He asked as he held out a hand to assist you up to your feet. You nodded and took his offer as you scrambled to your feet. You chest heaved quickly as your breathing was as if you ran a marathon. "Go on to your room, I'll bring some food to you shortly." Levi ordered.  "Lock your door if necessary." He spoke the last part very quiet but loud enough for you to hear.

You eyes averted to the crowd of whispering scouts at the hall entrance. Each and every one of their eyes locked onto you and you took the opportunity to quickly break away towards your room. Where was Erwin and who was this person that clouded his body?
