For the next two days, you did not once see the commander. You were for sure he was caught up on this whole Annie being the female titan. Though you missed talking to him. Sure, you talked to your fellow friends but it wasn't the same. Reiner still hadn't spoken to you, let alone look at you. You were at wits end with it and you were beyond tired of this childishness he was playing. The day before the 'expedition' to the stones district, Dinner rolled around and you decided that was where you'd force Reiner to talk to you. You walked into the loud cluttered mess hall and scanned for the broad blonde. Seconds later your eyes found him and you stormed into the direction of the table. His eyes bolted up from the table and once he caught sight of you, he instantly shot his head back down.

"Cut the crap Reiner, can we talk outside please?" You asked as you took one more step closer to the table.

"Why?" He spat calmly.

"Please." You asked again as you took a step back as you saw him fidget. His eyes glanced at bertholt before he exhaled sharply.

"Sure." He huffed as he pressed his hands onto the table as he slid out of his chair to stand up. He followed you to the front doors where you both stepped out. "What?" He spoke the minute you both were separated from the inside.

"How much longer are you going to pull this shit?"

"What shit?"

"This whole ignoring me. It's childish." You snapped. "Instead of approaching me to talk about it, you literally run away every time I'm near."

"There's nothing to talk about." He spoke coldly as he leaned up against the wall of the building putting his hands in his pockets.

"Clearly there's something to talk about if you start accusing me of shit in front of the whole mess hall." You crossed your arms as you dropped your head waiting for his response.

"Well I wasn't wrong." He barked.

"Yes you were wrong." You spat back catching his tone.

"Oh Christ!" He hissed "what does he have that I don't?" His voice dropped as if he choked on those words trying to release them from his lips. Your eyes widened slightly but not noticeable to the eye, you dropped your crossed arms down to your sides.

"I- Reiner.." you managed to get out. You in all honesty had no idea how to respond to that. "It's not like that.."

"Tell me." Reiner pleaded.  "I want to know."

"There nothing he has that you don't-"

"Bullshit." He spat loudly

"Reiner you couldn't expect me to know you feel unless you tell me. Hence I don't know... I can't read your mind. I'm sorry." You huffed defeated.

"You're going against so many regulations trying to go for the commander as well as he is. He could be removed from the commanders position if he is caught sleeping around with one of his cadets-"

"Fuck Reiner. We aren't sleeping together!"

"So that confirms it. There is something there." Reiner voice softened. You stood there absolutely stumped on how to respond. 'He's done nothing but ignore your presence the past few days and you're still over the moon for him. Why?"

"Why do you care?" You spoke as you helped yourself to seat in the ground. Your eyes shot up as a thought came to mind and your head darted to stare at Reiner.

'Did you know Annie was the female titan?' You suddenly asked catching Reiner completely off guard and his eyes widened with fear. Something in Reiner at that very moment seemed off but you couldn't pinpoint it.

"W-what? What are you talking about Annie's the female titan?"  He spoke in a manner almost as if it were a fake question.

"You knew didn't you?" You suddenly accused lowering your brows.

"I- you can't say anything!" He panicked as he ran to you and placed his hands on your shoulder aggressively. "You can't say nothing to anyone!. Please" He pleaded as tears fell down his face. Your mouth gaped open at his reaction. "Promise me.... Promise me DAMN IT." he barked as he shook you lightly.''

"Jesus Reiner that's just something I-"

"Please please please." He pleaded repeatedly as he threw your name in there. "Tell me I can trust you."

"Fuck okay okay." You spoke quickly placing your hands up in surrender

"Because if you say anything to anyone.... You- you won't like what happens next." He stopped himself as if he were going to threaten your life. You winced at his hard grip he had in your shoulders.  He removed his hands realizing he was hurting you. "I'm- I'm sorry. I have to go." He finished as he booked it back inside leaving you stunned at what just occurred. You eventually went back inside yourself and you were absolutely silent for the rest of dinner. Everyone caught on to your quietness and kept asking if you were alright. Of course, you told them you were just tired and you helped yourself to your room where you laid in your bed for what seemed like hours. Sasha was out cold snoring away and it made it hard to even attempt to go to sleep.

Roughly 2 am rolled around and you still couldn't sleep. Sasha's snoring got so irritating you decided to go on a little walk around. You wander the hall until you noticed light coming from the commanders office. Considering you haven't seen him the past few days, you thought you'd pop in and check up on him. You approached the door and lifted your arm letting a light knock collide with the wood. Silence filled the hallway until the door clicked open and revealed a still dressed in uniform commander.

"What are you doing up at this hour?" He asked quietly as he stepped aside as a way of welcoming you inside his office.

"Oh I don't mean to be a bother, I was just out for a walk and just wanted to make sure you were okay. I haven't seen you the past few days.''

"Nonsense, come in'' he ordered as he signaled with his hand for you to enter the office. You took a few steps and once you entered, he closed the door gently behind you.  "I apologize for not coming to see you, I've just had so much on my plate.''

"It's not a problem, really. I understand'' you sent him a reassuring smile. You took a seat in the opposing chairs as Erwin sat in his. Silence filled the room as the commander fell back into his trance of paperwork that he had sprawled out on his desk.

"Sir, Reiner knew of Annie." You suddenly blurted out unintentionally. Your eyes widened and your hand flew to cover your mouth.

Fuck.

The commanders head shot up and his eyes studied you.

"What do you mean?' He asked lowering his bushy brows. You sat up in the chair more ready to explain the conversation you had with Reiner and why he seemed off.  You told Erwin every detail from start to finish. He just sat there observing and taking in every word you were saying, with the occasional nod.

"I appreciate you telling this all this. Thank you" Erwin said sincerely.

"What are you going to do?'' You asked softly as you fiddled with your fingers In your lap.

"For now nothing. It's too risky to make any moves whilst we are focusing on the female titan situation Itself.'' Erwin admitted. "Once that is all clear, I'll figure the rest out. And for you, I'd like to keep this between us. Id rather not add stress to anyone else's plates.

"Yes sir" you agreed. You felt bad for even adding it to Erwin's bundle is stress but you believed as a commander, he should have the right to know.
