Let me take care of you

A/N: I chose this photo of Tom and Kat because I couldn't find anything else to fit. Plus it's a cute one.

Summary: Madison ran away from her home and ended up on the doorstep of her best friend's house. She knew she could trust Tom and in times of need he was the only one she could turn to for help, the shoulder to cry on. Now was one of those times that she needed her best friend desperately.

Madison knocked anxiously on the door then she stood waiting in the cold and wet, whilst shuffling from one foot to the other and shivering with fear rather than from the cold. She had to wait awhile for an answer and after a few more louder knocks, because it was so late or early depending how you look at it. When she saw the lights turn on she knew he was coming to open the door.

"Maddie!" Tom's voice was a little hoarse but laced with shock too. His hair was tousled and he was half asleep and confused, as didn't expect to see her on his doorstep, after all she was meant to be getting on flight in less than three hours. "You're soaked, darling. Come here. What happened?" He added pulling on her gray cardigan sleeve to bring her into the warmth.

Even after the door was closed behind her once she was inside Madison didn't say anything, but she was quickly taken into Tom's arms. Despite how much she loved his hugs right now she's in a great deal of pain and she whimpered against his chest.

"Madison, did I hurt you?" He asked with concern while holding her at arms length. Madison could only shake her head no. "Maddie..." he brushed her black hair away from her black and blue right eye, instantly upon seeing her eye he felt anger right down to his core. "Did Jack do this to you?" Tom asked through gritted teeth.

"Y...yes" Maddison stuttered with fresh tears springing from her eyes. "Yes-yes he hurt me." she began sobbing now uncontrollably.

Tom never liked Jack but he had to tolerate him for her. His best friend. Madison had fallen hard for Jack two years ago and she got all giddy talking about him in the beginning. The so-called honeymoon of the relationship didn't last longer than the first two months, which happened to be the same time Tom got home from filming the Avengers.

Madison and Jack's relationship got a bit slower after Tom got home as he spent a lot of his free time with her. Tom wasn't home for very long however during that time Jack would argue a lot with Madison, mostly over the smallest things. Albeit nothing was at the time aimed at Tom being the issue, Jack just blamed it on working too much and that he took it out on her. Madison told him she understood and was used to it with Tom not being around all the time. She loved him. Of course Tom knew about the arguing during that time, but he supported her when she wanted to stay with him. Including supporting her when she moved in with Jack after being with him for six months. Tom loved Madison and he would stay by her side no matter what. Although, Tom didn't know Jack was jealous of him, jealous of how close, how inseparable they can be when together. Also, he didn't know that Jack had hurt her a couple of times before now.

The first time Jack hurt her it was an open palm strike across her face. He did it after an argument five months ago when he accused her of sleeping with Tom. The first time he voiced about Tom being the issue in their relationship. He accused Madison after she had partied with Tom and some of his friends at his place for his birthday. She stayed overnight with a few others, as they were too drunk to go home. While she did sleep in Tom's bed he actually slept on the floor, because he was a gentleman and a friend, meanwhile the spare bedroom and the sofa's were already occupied by the others. Jack instantly felt sorry for hitting her, apologising profusely and promised to never do it again. Only he didn't keep his promise. His jealousy reared its ugly head when Madison was packing for her flight to visit Tom on set, which was three months ago. He claimed to have no knowledge of a trip out of the country, but Madison had told him weeks beforehand. Originally she told him it was with Jenny, another friend, unfortunately Jack had seen Tom's text about seeing her and that's when he turned on her. He hit her like the first time and again apologised for it. After that second time Jack began drinking and was in a constant mood.
