Secret admirer

Summary: Loki had paid the Collector a visit despite his sentence on Earth forbidding him to do so. He's meant to live with his brother and the Avengers as redemption for what he did to New York. However he was willing to risk the consequences for you, to get you a Valentine's day gift, the prettiest and rarest of all the flowers in the entire nine realms. Also going against his beliefs about the stupid Midgardian holiday. Only his gift unexpectedly sets alight to both of you.

Loki tip-toed around the Avengers compound due to it still being very early in the morning. Also, he held a small box which he had hidden behind his back. He had the box's content specially delivered to be on time for Midgard's national day of love, Valentine's Day. He used to scoff at the holiday, even once calming it to be nothing other than a "soppy, expectation and a money grabbing scheme that puny mortals fall for every time." However ever since Loki laid his eyes upon you 6 months ago he began to feel things he hadn't in decades, centuries even. You're like no other creature he'd ever laid eyes on before, you didn't treat him differently to anyone else, you saw Loki as himself, and not as the monster many still fear him to be. So as a way to make a move he thought to get you a little something for Valentine's Day, a token of his secret feelings for you.

As he approached your door he double checked both ends of the corridor, seeing that he was alone he opened the box he had in his possession, but the creak of your door being opened forced Loki to hide the gift behind him again.

"Morning, Lokes, happy valentine's day! Ready to go?" You cheerily greet Loki, as you close your door behind you, and try to ignore his attempt of trying to look less suspicious. Alas you failed. You can't help but notice that something is up with him.

Loki normally would have groaned at being wished a happy valentine's day, except you had wished it to him, it actually made his heart flutter. "Course, darling. You go on ahead and I'll grab us some water." He said then he's plastering on a strange thin line smile.

You carefully eye Loki up, as if you're trying to read between the lines in his expression, but he just awkwardly looks around the corridor for a moment, before his eyes are back on yours and he shrugs innocently. You end up brushing it off and tell him you'll meet him outside for the warm up.

Shortly after you left Loki exhaled a breath he didn't realise he'd been holding. Once again he checks both ends of the corridor as he begins to open up the box. There inside was a rare red flower. He'd gone to visit the Collector without informing anyone that he was traveling off world. Not that he should have because technically he shouldn't have left Earth at all, as it's a part of his punishment after what he did to New York, sentenced to live with his brother and the Avengers to redeem himself. However Loki did it, he risked the consequences for you, he thought you deserved only the prettiest of all of the flowers in the universe. While he was visiting the Collector he didn't listen to the Collector's little speech, it just went in one ear and out the other, Loki had made his mind up already. He'd found the prettiest flower for the most beautiful, nay, gorgeous creature to ever exist in all of the nine realms.

Loki processes to carefully open the box and he's instantly hit by the powerful aroma. He then takes the delicate blooming flower out of its box with just as much care. Its petals are a deeper red, more silky, and its smell more intoxicating than any ordinary rose. Also he thought when he first saw it that a single rose would welt just being close to the exotic beauty.

Despite the power of the flower's aroma Loki holds it up to his nose, and he takes a deep inhale to make sure it was perfect up close, and not an illusion put on the box itself to smell good from afar. However as he took the deep inhale his eyes rolled back unexpectedly, the pollen particles rushing through his veins, a warm tingling spreading throughout his body. Yet he was brought back to reality when he heard footsteps approaching. The worry of being caught leaving a gift by your door wasn't a part of Loki's plan, so he dropped it instead as the box disappeared, the flower still landed by your door. Albeit some of the pollen had landed on his workout clothes as he dropped it. He hadn't noticed though, as it seeped into his clothes right through to his skin, almost like a sponge soaking up water. Loki suddenly appears beside you as you straight up from your lunges.
