Unexpected joy

A/N: This one is a late Mother's Day special and was quickly thrown together. Hopefully it isn't terrible, haha.

The inspiration for this was from my own life to an extent about making the huge decision of keeping my baby girl when my ex wanted me to have an abortion. The rest of course I kept a lot out for my own privacy sake and I made Tom into it. But this one is for all the Mum's out there no matter your story/journey into motherhood.

Summary: Rebecca finds unexpected joy from becoming a mother for the first time and a new love when she wasn't searching for it after her and her baby daddy broke up long before her baby girl was born.

For Rebecca motherhood was an unexpected joy that blossomed from an unplanned pregnancy.

A night out drinking with her ex boyfriend and unprotected sex was a tale as old as time. She'd been having doubts about their relationship for a while before that night, doubts he brushed off easily, right until the day she'd found out about her pregnancy. The pair broke up having been together only a few months and he was detached from the entire breakup process. He even wanted her to have an abortion and wouldn't communicate much else with her. He ghosted her soon after she officially told him she wasn't having an abortion a few weeks later.

Right around the fourth month mark serendipitously Rebecca met someone else. She wasn't looking for anyone else, it just happened, Tom Hiddleston happened of all people in the world. Having met by chance while both were out walking their dogs. She tried to keep things platonic with him, tried putting him off by saying she was pregnant with another's baby, but he pursued her anyway. Love quickly followed.

"I will take care of both of you, my beautiful girls." The words one night he had whispered to her while wrapped up in his arms in bed and a hand on her growing bump, the words that imprinted on her heart and mind. The protection she felt around her which had coupled up with those words would stay with her forever. The words he also repeated once the little one was born and he held the baby girl in his arms for the first time.

For that first time Rebecca saw Tom holding the little girl in his arms she felt an unexpected flood of emotions, tears ran down her face, she knew she couldn't have gotten here without him. The unexpected joy motherhood bestowed upon her and the love Tom had given her gave her something she never thought she would ever have. A family of her own.
