(Sorry I didn't update yesterday but here's the next chapter anyway!)
TIME SKIP-------------------->
Things are heated between Snow and Rose...
|Snow|
"I don't want to talk right now Rose!" I glared at her as she folded her arms in frustration.
"I don't care Snow! You haven't been acting right for the past couple of days...what the hell is wrong with you?" She stood there, demanding an answer from me like I was on trial. I wanted to tell her but...I'm sorry Rose. Boys...just boys...
"So what?! I'm always like this! I don't see why you're getting so interested in my life!" I covered up my frustration with an unconvincing lie, which she saw right through as per usual. In retaliation, Rose pointed out my strange behaviour as if she had been monitoring it. It's scary how well she knows me.
"You're angrier than usual. You were crying the other day...I just don't get you!"
"You don't need to get me Rose! Can't you just leave your sister alone? Is that too much to ask?" I snarled. Why did things always happen to me? Why now? Why couldn't my sister learn the meaning of "leave me alone?"
"I just want to help...I'm sorry ok? If it's me..." Oh no. She was playing the guilt game, trying to blame herself so she could bounce it back on me. I told you, we knew each other all too well.
"It's not you Rose, it's me. I'm having a rough week. I just need...peace. I appreciate your help, I really do, but I need to work this thing out on my own," I sighed. She gave a small nod and quietly walked upstairs, shaking her head. It was nice to know my sister cared, but sometimes I really needed her to give me some privacy. Like in this case for instance.
After that fight, I just needed sleep and time...
|Bigby|
In the forest far away...
"Bigby, I heard what happened between you two...if you don't wanna do this anymore-"
"You know what? I'm gonna stop you right there because I'm not letting anyone get in the way of our mission. I would prefer not to talk about what happened with us. Can we just do what we need to do without bringing it up?" I cut Woody off abruptly. Knowing that I was serious, he spoke no more on the subject and continued to walk quietly beside me.
"Yeah, sure. I know how you feel man. Women, am I right?" I gave him a sad smile before we arrived at the portal. We jogged through it together and arrived safely on the other side near another village. Thankfully, it wasn't the one before. I hope.
"So what's the plan?" He was nervous, it was clear. How could you not be though? We were probably breaking every rule in school, but what was the point of having a portal to the Mundy world when no one could use it?
"We go, find a kid, ask them our stories, and leave without causing a fuss. We need to make sure we don't run into any parents," parents were the last thing we needed. They alerted the authorities and that was certainly something that should not happen during this mission. If this was the same village, then I dreaded going back here after what happened last time. But we needed answers and nothing was going to stop us from getting them.
"Which one Bigby?" I sniffed to look for a scent. There was a little girl about three houses down spraying perfume, making it really easy to pinpoint the exact location of a child. It was easier than I thought it would be anyway.
"That one," I replied, pointing at one of the smaller houses with red shutters and yellow frames.
We went round back and I hoisted Woody into the bedroom to take a look. After double checking the room, he gave me a thumbs up. The kid must be in the bathroom.
