Chapter 24-The Season of Winter

Winter is coming. And so is Christmas time! Where Fables of all kinds celebrate and have the time of their lives. Even Mary. And one very special wolf is lashing out to buy the perfect gift for his true love...

"I just don't know...what are you getting Red?" I asked Woody as we ate our lunch with Beast, Ambrose and Mowgli, who were all talking about something entirely different. We just had random conversations between each other on a regular basis, so I'm not surprised that no one else joined since we always had inside jokes that people would never understand. (Bromance yass).

"Probably a new hoodie. She loves red so anything that colour makes her happy. Maybe you can get Snow some perfume?" He joked. I folded my arms and gave him my 'are you serious?' stare.

"You know I can't get her that. Her scent is perfect as it is. I wouldn't want some brand new smell disturbing the one she already has," I muttered in an insignificant manner.

"I was kidding! Get her jewellery! If I know Snow, then she loves stuff like that. She was telling me the other day that she needed a new necklace," I thought about potentially buying her something like that, but it was too small...I wanted to buy Snow an amazing present, not something as pointless as jewellery. But knowing the type of person she was, she would always be happy as long as I made an effort.

"You know the saying: Diamonds are a girl's best friend," he ran his hand through his hair, contemplating on what to get Red. That was true I guess. I could take her out somewhere as well, make it our own little Christmas Day. And I knew the perfect place.

"Maybe I will Woody, thanks for the suggestions," I smiled and walked out the canteen, only to bump into the last person I wanted to talk to.

Mary.

"You're in a hurry. Where ya going Biggs? Can I come? I'm super bored and—"

"I'm going to buy a gift for Snow. Maybe you could help me, you know what she likes!" I cut her off, earning an angry glare from her. Before she could say anything, I dragged her to the forest since the school had a crap reception. I needed to look at some stores online and shop for expensive jewellery.

"Wait a sec! Are you buying her a Christmas present? That's crazy!" She leaned against a tree, raising a brow. Why was she surprised by that? Snow was my girlfriend so I would obviously get her a Christmas present. It would be a dick move if I didn't.

"How come? Are you surprised I'm being nice for once? I told you I was trying to change, and this is the way I want to show Snow how much I love her. She's taken all our bullshit for the past few weeks so I need to make this perfect," I eyed her when hinting that she was mostly the cause of most of the problems. Well, most of the time.

I couldn't help being attracted to trouble, it's just what I do. But Mary was a whole lot worse than me, that's for sure. She kills children! That's pretty high up on the bad books, no?

"I'm just saying...what are you gonna buy her anyway?" She glanced at my phone as I searched for different jewellery stores.

"Whoa, that's a fancy kind of gift Bigby. How are you gonna afford this exactly?" She questioned with suspicion.

"Believe it or not, I've been saving up for quite some time just for this occasion. Plus, there's the emergency fund," she gasped in horror and shock.
