Me and Woody couldn't wait for Mary any longer so we both ended up running as fast as we could to the school.
Let me tell you about the doctors in our school. They were probably the ones operating on Bigby, so it's important you know who's a good and bad doctor here.
Doctor Swinehart was a middle aged man in his 40's who he always stayed in late. He was a friendly man, and was usually the doctor that initiated all the jags and yearly checkups, accompanied by his less-friendly and obnoxious nurse called Nurse Spratt. She was about thirty and overweight, which was probably the reason for her horrible attitude.
You were very unlucky if you got her for checkups as she was always so rough. I remember poor, unfortunate Nerissa had her for one of the jags and she practically got stabbed by the needle. It left a bruise which stayed there for about four days and even after it had completely healed, it was still extremely painful.
And Nerissa had a needle phobia. You should've heard her screaming. She was so loud that some parents had phoned in and asked if someone had been shot.
It didn't even hurt! It was just like getting stung by a bee, and we tried to help, but Nurse Spratt had prevented anyone going in with Nerissa.
Stupid nurse...
Running into the school after the bell had rung was so weird. Everything was so quiet, and the only thing that disturbed the peaceful silence was the flowing of water throughout the drains that were located everywhere in the school.
It was still strange though, as you could only hear this noise if you were made to work in silence in a classroom. Oh the joys of having a crap teacher.
Yet, there were no screaming teenagers, no teachers shouting. It was weird that the old and almost-deaf janitor had even let us into the school. Some would think that two kids covered in blood and running into school after hours was a strange thing. But we somehow got away with it.
Out of breath and tired, we arrived outside the medical room to see Doctor Swinehart removing silver from Bigby's side. Nurse Spratt wasn't around, so we were very, very lucky.
I spotted Mary who was sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the room with a sullen look on her face. Her eyes were tired with heavy bags beneath them and she almost didn't notice us.
She perked up immensely and started apologising, "Oh my god Snow! I'm really, really sorry I didn't come back. I wanted to, but Bigby wanted me to stay with him." I didn't care what she excuses were. It was time for explanations. Here come the questions.
"Is he going to be ok Doctor? What the hell happened to you? Oh god Bigby..." I choked, a lump causing me to almost break down. I tried to be strong, but this was so scary.
And it was my fault.
I just pushed him away and now he's gotten himself into more trouble than I could possibly imagine. And it's all thanks to me.
"Miss White, I need to time to operate on him, but he will live. If you could just wait with Mary then I'll be done in no time," the doctor reassured me in an urgent tone. I hugged Woody in sadness, not bearing to look at the state Bigby was in.
"What happened?" I eventually asked Woody, who stared at me in sadness.
"We...went to find a Mundy who would tell us our stories. It went haywire, but your friends came and helped us escape. But Bigby got shot to shit," Woody said sadly.
