It wasn't until after another few punches and someone falling to the ground that I eventually opened my eyes. There, I saw the last person I expected to see.

"Charming?" I whispered, rubbing my eyes to check if it really was him or not. He was still standing there with his hands clenched into fists and blood was on them. He was out of breath and panting, but that still didn't stop him from giving another few kicks to Brandish's now unconscious body.

"How did you know I was here? How much of that did you see exactly? Why did you save me?" All these questions and yet, he never even bothered to answer. Instead, he approached me with a small smile and held out his hand.

"Hey. No one touches my Apple like that and gets away with it," I held in a giggle and took his hand, dusting off my dirty uniform. I just had to fall in mud, didn't I?

"Whoa. Knocked him out cold. Never knew you could fight like that to be honest. I'm impressed," I smiled, trying to make conversation. It was the least I could do since he literally just saved me from that monster.

"There's more to me than good looks," he winked, "And I thought I owed you after being such an asshole at the Winter Ball. It was a dick move, so I hope this makes us even."

"You just stopped me from possibly being raped and that's all you have to say? So that's the reason then? Just because you were a dick. Not because you wanted to?" My hands were on my hips and I gave him an angry stare.

"Well, the last time I checked, you were dating someone else. But of course I wanted to Snow. As I said a very long time ago, single or not, I'll never let someone touch you like that when you're clearly not enjoying it," he said seriously, making my eyes widen in surprise. Maybe he did still have feelings for me and he certainly cared. At least he wasn't being a complete asshole about it this time.

"I'm glad you accept that. And I'm kinda glad I can talk to you now without wanting to punch you in the face several times," I smirked, and he laughed, shaking his head.

"I know I was a dick, I get it. I'm dating Briar and I love her Snow, I really do. I had way too much to drink that night and things just kicked off when they weren't supposed to. I didn't mean to be such a jealous a-"

"It's fine. You've certainly made up for it now, so I'm glad we could resolve that. What're you doing here anyway?" I interrupted him before causing himself any embarrassment. Charming boasted about himself way too often and although it was funny seeing how guilty he felt, he couldn't make a fool of himself in case some crazy fangirl was watching. I swear they stalk him like hawks and I didn't want to ruin his reputation considering he just saved me.

"Me and Bluebeard were fencing in the forest, like we always do at lunchtime. When I heard your pleading cries, I couldn't help but ditch the sword and save you. Saving damsels in distress is kinda my thing, you know?" He winked again cheekily, earning a playful elbow from me.

"Alright, alright. But you have to promise not to mention any of this to Bigby. You have no idea what he could do, and the last thing we need right now is him killing Brandish. As much as I would like that to happen, I don't want him murdering my exes since you might be next. He knows what you did at the ball you know," he looked a little shocked by the information of me wanting to keep everything a secret.
