"Miss Ketchum? Can I come in." Serena knocked the door of her room waiting for permission to enter the room when the sound of locks clanking caught her attention and the door slowly opened.

"Serena? You need something." She asked her as she shook her head in denial. She wanted answers. Clement and Max found out about secrets that should have remained secret. Even iris who tries to stay the cheerful one was in a sour mood.

"I just wanted to talk about a few things." She said as Delia opened the door completely motioning her to enter. She entered the room as both of them sat on bed looking out toward the sunny sky.

"Is it about his dad?" Delia asked her as she nodded her head with a little hesitation. She didn't knew how would she act after this question.

"Richard never had a pleasant childhood." She started as Serena looked at her. Richard huh. So thats the name of his father.

"His parents worked for rangers too from what he told me. He never knew what love was like. His parents were never with him. Mostly on missions to protect kanto." She said grabbing a glass of water and gulping it down.

"To prevent the war from waging between two states who were walking on thin ice. They gave away their lives. During their last moment. They told him how he is their most precious thing with Kanto. And how his duty was to protect this region."

Richards childhood wasn't something he loved to talk about. Being thrown into rangers academy to train when you are just a few years old kid isn't something anyone would love. Being trained as a killing machine. He remembered his first kill when he was 8 or 9 years old.

"It was the first time his parent told him that they loved him. That particular memory was imprinted in his mind. That was the changing point of his life. He sworn he will carry their legacy and protect kanto. He didn't cared about anything." She continued looking out of the sky remembering him.

"Then why hate Ash? Why didn't he.." Serena stopped before completing the sentence thinking about whether it will hurt Delia.

"He never recieved love as a kid. All he knew about was killing. He killed hundreds in his life as a ranger. He didn't knew what it felt like to have kids. He never knew what would he do to love the kid."

"He never belived he could create something as pure as a child."

She finished as her eyes locked with serena who understood everything. Richard was never taught to love and didn't knew how to love his own child.

"He wasn't even present when Ash was born." Delia whispered to herself.

Richard's parents death was something that messed him up. His obsession over kanto begin from there. He didn't cared how many people he had to kill to make kanto safe.

"Then why is he working with Giovanni? Clement found transaction record between them." Serena asked her.

"Because he has his limits. Giovanni is a nasty guy. Even by his standards. It was better to work with him to make kanto rise to top than fight against him. Lives of millions were at stake." She answered her question. Richard had a weird way of being father. To prevent Giovanni from going after Ash as a kid, he worked with him. Indirectly. Like allowing pokemons to be poached under his area, illegal activities under him, illegal transaction under name of development of his area.

But everything around world blamed Ash.

And he snapped. He didn't cared if Ash was his own son. All he knew was Ash was a mass murderer who threatened peace in Kanto. And to own up to his mistakes. He sworn to bring his head to legue.
