There were many ways to describe their relationship. Among all the silence Ash grabbed the chair and sat on it as he looked at alain who was frozen in time.

"Ash?" He asked not wanting to belive what he was seeing. Ash was in front of him. His mind remembering thr talk with Clement a few weeks back when he asked for him to help find Ash. Being busy he refused but did slight research himself.

"Guess you remember me. Well considering how much uproar i have caused it is quite expected." His deep cold voice said as Alain grabbed the chair and sat in front of Ash.

Their eyes locked with each other. Alain refused to belive that his eyes could have been this dead. The person whose eyes were filled with life which tired him even by looking into it had eyes that were dead.

All the life in them gone. The dark circles under his eyes being the proof of his sleepless nights. Alain calmed himself down. Even if Ash was a criminal somewhere deep in his heart he believed that he wasn't pure evil.

More like he was evil for a greater good.

"Indeed. So what are you doing here? If you wanted you could have contacted me directly than lay a trap." Alain said remembering the call asking him to get here for some business.

"Knowing how many people are after my blood. I wanted to keep it safe for me and my family." Ash answered leaning to his knees.

"What about Marin? She good?" Ash asked Alain as he nodded his head. Ash's eyes went on a badge on Alain's shirt as ge studied it.

"Devon corps huh. Not bad." Ash said looking at the logo of the devon corps on the badge with Alain's name written on it.

"Things happened Ash." Alain sighed tiredly as Ash quirked an eyebrow toward him.

"You know i never really believed steven to be the kind of guy after power." Ash said as Alain looked at him and sighed. He knew what Ash was asking. Why was he working with Steven when he knew what they were doing wasn't something one could call pure.

"It is survival of thr fittest Ash. Either you hunt or get hunted. There is no other way." Alain answered the unasked question as Ash sighed. He believed only Kanto to be affected but looked like other regions were affected badly too.

People needed to work in any way to live. Be it right or wrong.

"Hunt and getting hunted. I don't have too much time so i will get down to business." Ash said taking a serious tone as his eyes locked with Alain who motioned for him to continue.

"Where is Rayquaza?"

Ash asked in a dead cold voice to alain as the blood in his body froze. How did he knew about it? It was supposed to be a top secret.

"What are you taking about?" Alain maintained his calm and asked Ash.

"Hmm interesting. You calmed yourself rather quick. Anyway i don't have time to play games Alain. I searched the whole sky pillar where that stupid god stays most of his time and guess what. I didn't found a thing." Ash said as Alain gulped the saliva which stuck in his throat. Ash was too dangerous.

"Guess what i found computers of devon corps there. Any idea why?" Ash asked. Their little secret was busted. Ash knew about it. Ash stood up and leaned next to Alain's ears.

"where it is Alain?" He asked in a dead cold voice.

"I always thought Steven was a kinda right champion but guess power is a hunger no one can fill. To keep on living in this world you have to hunt. Steven did right. He hunted Rayquaza." Ash started in a low voice.

"And so will I."

"What would I gain in return?" Alain asked Ash. Lance told him. Over years, Alain had grown to be more like a businessman dealing with business of Devon corps than a mere trainer.

And steven, he did what he felt was right. The power of mega evolution without key stones was an idea that could sell for billions. Ash didn't blamed steven but he needed Rayquaza now.

To become the strongest.

"A world free from suffering. I heard about Sawyer. I will take his responsibility too." Ash said striking the final nail in the coffin as Alain didn't thought a second time.

Ash had proved his worth. By killing Damian. He was worthy of it. If he was willing to get sawyer back from Devon corps then what else could he wish for.

"Middle of Hoenn sea. You need to act quick. If i am right then Groudon and Kyougre are already making their way to the crystal." Alain said as Ash placed his hands on his shoulder.

"Don't worry. I will get Sawyer back." Ash walked past Alain as he stopped near the door.

"One more thing." Alain turned around to face Ash who held a bored yet fierce look. Calm like eye of a storm yet raging like a typhoon.

"Tell them to stay out of my life. I know they contacted you." Ash left the godown leaving Alain alone as he stared at the ceiling. If what Ash was doing was right, maybe a hope was there. Maybe world will change. Was he willing to include him in his personal life. Hell no. Ash seemed different.

His phone rung as he pulled it out and placed it near his ears.

"Where are you Alain? We are late for meeting professor." Marin asked as he smirked in darkness.

"I just met an old Acquaintance." He answered hanging up the phone walking out of the room as his eyes locked on a blur flying away from Kalos.

"Ash's hunch was right. There are proves of a Regigigas being seen in this region." Cynthia said as she smirked. They needed to act now. They were done waiting. Ash was finally staring to out the king in a tight spot on the game of chess.

A chess where their lives were at stake.
