"What is one thing that you can never forgive Ash?" Sabrina asked Ash who closed his eyes sighing tiredly. A one thing he cannot forgive. If it was his past self he would have answered abusing pokemons, misusing powers but now things were different for him.
"A betrayal." He answered. Among the worst feelings he felt as a person. Betrayal was one of them. It was the same question Diantha asked him, Clair asked him and so did Cynthia. Ash was scared.
Getting close to people who love you is the best feeling Ash could describe but also the worst feeling when they are ripped away from you. Ash didn't wanted to get hurt more and build walls around him. A wall that surrounded him and Hina but those three broke it. He was glad of it yet scared.
And now Diantha was sitting face to face with the same person who Ash belived betrayed him. Over and over. Every night till Sabrina came into his life that dream haunted him. It killed him over and over.
None of them knew what to say here. Diantha knew none of the four of them could have what you could call a pleasent childhood. Ash never had a father in his life, neither did Clair or Cynthia. She was a little different being raised by a single father who was never involved in her life blaming her for her mothers death. She did everything in her power to be recognised by him but in the end she gave up.
But it was still better than the case of Cynthia or Clair. And she knew it. She respected that fact. You have to cherish what you have or you will regret once you lose it all. She knew it. She knew they were always walking on thin ice but they wanted to live the life to fullest.
And to live life to fullest. All of them had to let go of their past in a way they won't regret it. The three of them parted with their past in a respectful way but Ash... He wanted to let go of it but couldn't. He wanted to forget his past yet he wanted to blame it all on it.
So she needed to step in... Ash was a part of their life. For him to let go of his past. They had to step in.
"I am outside." Richard stood up rather abruptly walking out of the room leaving Burnet, Diantha and Kukui on one side and delia on other as they saw her lips part lightly wanting to say something.
"Where's Ash?" She asked the question which they anticipated. Burnet lightly nudged Diantha's shoulder pulling her out of her mind as she looked at Delia.
"He is out with Cynthia to deal some personal business. They should be back in an hour or something.." She answered as Delia nodded her head. Burnet and Kukui looked at both of them as Kukui sighed. They needed to act as a catalyst here.
"There must be a lot you must want to talk about Miss ketchum.. You should ask it to Diantha.. She knows about him more than anyone of us." Kukui triggered the trap as Diantha sighed.
"Why? Miss Ketchum." She asked the same question Ash would have asked here. Just why?
"I.." She wanted to say something but she just couldn't. What right she had to abandon her own son. The person who was his life. The one who stayed with her when she cried remembering Richard. Her own child.
"I don't know.." She held her hair in desperation as Diantha's grip on the cup increased.
"Don't fuck with me.." She said in a low voice. How could she? How can she betray her own son and say she didn't know. But Delia wasn't in right state of mind. She didn't cared about anything else than meeting Ash.
"Please let me meet Ash." She begged to the woman in front of her.
"Not until you answer my question." She firmly said.
"Why won't you let me meet him." Delia said as her teary eyes met Diantha's. She was so close to meeting Ash yet so far.
"Why don't we calm down." Burnet intervened in between calming all the parties involved as she rubbed her temples.
