"I am fine.." Clair assured him for the infinite time as Ash placed her on the rock looking into her eyes placing his hands over her burning cheeks..
"Don't lie Clair.." Ash said plucking a pokeball as their head slowly rose toward the top with the Rayquaza spinning around the tree shaking it violently as she held his hands.. Her grip on his hand increased for some reason as he held it back..
"It will be fine..."
He threw the pokeball back revealing his Garchomp as her eyes sparkled with tears.. She didn't helped him rather became a burden to him. She wanted to die in a hole but Ash knew what she was thinking...
It is a weird paradox but once you stay with a person for a long time.. You grow to love them, you understand them.. And for Ash, Clair was one of the person he held close to him.. Especially after everything they had been through.. She was a part of his world..
"Take care of Clair at any rate.." Ash ordered Garchomp as the dragon nodded his head when he looked at Clair who looked down glaring a hole at the ground..
"Hey.." Ash slowly leaned down on his knees placing his hands on her knees as she refused to meet his eyes wiping her tears running her hand over her red puffy cheeks as a pang of guilt hitted through his heart..
"Clair.." He whispered..
"I am sorry Ash.. I am sorry for being useless.." She cried out as he slowly rose his body over her knees embracing her as she cried.. All of them were desperate here..
"I.."
"All right Clair.. It is enough.. You have done more than enough. There is nothing else i could wish for.." He cutted her off without listening to her as they stayed like that.. Her lips parted apart as she tried to stifle a sob.. She wanted to cry but then again.. None of them could be weak in front of each other.. This was the path they chose.. A path they decided to follow to the end..
Yet she wondered what would have happened if they chose a different path..
The wind spiralled around them hitting them with the cruel reality of this world, where they were as he slowly pulled away from her..
"Sorry.." Those were the last words she heard from him when he blowed a yellow powder on her face..
"Wha.." She felt her brain shut down, her body grew warm and heavy as her grip on his wrist increased not wanting to leave him.. The sleep powder did its job as her eyes dropped dead, she believed the last thing she saw was a trail of tears leaving his eyes as she crashed onto his shoulders..
He slowly placed her on the ground taking off her robe folding it a few times placing it under her head holding his stoic gaze wiping his tears as he slowly stood up.. His gaze met with Garchomp's but he didn't said anything, his eyes said more than words could.. The dragon nodded his head standing next to Clair as he slowly walked away..
And here he was.. Standing in front of the so called Damos like a deer in headlights..
The man in front of him, he scared Ash.. His entire body screamed at him to run away but then again.. He couldn't back off after coming this far.. The ominous aura the man was radiating was no joke.. He slowly turned his head around looking at him sucking all the air out of his lungs..
"Holding your head a too high don't you think.." The man said.. His body wanted to crash onto his knees but he slammed his hands on his shaking knees closing his eyes.. A spiral of emotions ran into his mind.. Everything he did till now led to the man in front of him..
"But it can be forgiven considering you are the last guardian.." The man stood up as his black buddhist monk robe fluttered with the air.. His slowly stood up grabbing his handle raising it toward Ash.. Ash slowly opened his eyes controlling his mind looking at the man in front of him..
