"Should we end it?" The three of the strongest trainers asked among themselves seeing the last waves of grunts and guards in front of them as Paul looked in front of him. His eyes locked on a woman crying and trying to persuade her husband onto leaving that side and coming back to her.
Diantha didn't wanted to see it. What if something like this happen to them in future? What if they are forced to hurt Ash. Her head shot around toward her back slowly looking at Hina with Rei and Lei who was silent. She haven't spoke a word since she got here.
"What happened to Hina?" She asked Clair as they decided to hold off their final attack for a few moments. Just for a moment, to see if the woman is able to persuade her husband.
"Ash yelled at her. But from my perspective none of them were wrong. Ash was desperate and Hina was scared." Clair said. Despite being with Hina for the least amount of time she understood the little girl like her own. Hina was a kid in the end no matter how smart she was, how perfect she was. And kids often tend to search for protection from the people they loved. And Hina loved her father the most.
"Hina. Whats wrong?" Diantha asked leaning down the girl's level seeing the hazy look in her crimson orbs which are always filled with love and life. And it made the woman a little concerned. No matter how worse the situation was, how hard they fought. Ash and Hina always laughed together. For Ash, Hina's happiness was his happiness and vice versa. But right now something was wrong.
"..." The girl said nothing as a few other cries for people to return to their side increased. Paul still held his cold calculative look looking at every single movement on the field. The battle outside was over but the battle inside was far from it. She looked at the other kids around believing Hina didn't wanted to talk about her problem in front of then as she picked the little girl in her arms and walked a little away.
"Now Whats wrong princess. Did Ash yelled at you?" She asked as the girl refused to answer. She didn't blamed Ash but there was something else to her silence. The girl looked at Diantha and hid her face on her shoulder not wanting to cry. The woman held her as she felt her grip around her tightening.
"Are you okay?" And the girls dam bursted. She wasn't crying loudly or wailing. Just shedding bitter tears for some reason. She felt her body shake from the amount of sadness the girl was exhibiting as Diantha whispered a few words into her ears trying to calm down the little girl. Tears flowed down her crimson eyes as she cried as much as she could.
"Hina is... sorry.." She hiccuped out trying to control herself but failing miserably.
"It's fine. Just tell me whats wrong?" She asked placing the girl on the ground wiping her face with her dress as she looked at her pretty face. Ash is gonna get screwed up tonight, big time.
"It.. It is .. Hina's fault.. Mommy died.." She said as she lunged onto Diantha not wanting to let her go. Mommy? There was only one person in the world who Hina called Mommy. Sabrina. Did she somehow believed that it was her fault Sabrina died.
"No sweetie it isn't your fault. Who said it?" She asked or rather demanded. No one should blame a child for anything that happened in past, her parents did, her clan did or anything of thar sort. Kids are innocent. Diantha held the girl tightly who didn't wanted to stop. She will make anyone pay who made her cry.
"Daddy... Hates hina. It is be...because of Hina mommy...died." She cried out not wanting to let Diantha go. Hina had nothing to do with Sabrina's death, absolutely nothing. Yet here she was blaming herself. Her eyes locked with Mega Gardevoir as she nodded her head lightly. A small barrier emerged over her and Hina as she kissed the girl's head in an lame attempt to stop her crying.
"Increase the diameter slowly." Her eyes ordered as the embrace pokemon gladly obliged.
"Daddy blames Hina.." She said once again.
