A WEEK LATER

The moon illuminated the buildings in the city as Ash jumped from one building to another following a aura signature of another aura user. The rumours weren't exactly right but weren't completely wrong too.

"Hold tight." Ash commanded to Diantha as she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly as he jumped to another building landing on his knees.

His sense noticing the aura diverting in two directions. He cursed under his breath standing steady in his place noticing the two similar aura's running in opposite direction from each other.

"Reach for my second pokeball from left Diantha." Ash said to Diantha as he hands reached for the said pokeball. She threw the pokeball as Ash's lucario emerged from the blinding red lights as he stood on edge of building noticing two light blurs jumping from one building to another.

"Lucario, follow the aura on left. If its a human send me the signal and if not you know the drill." Ash ordered not bothering to look at the aura pokemon as he jumped toward the second blur leaving first one for Lucario.

The aura signature were similar to someone he knew in past. A person supposed to be killed by Rockets.

"Is riley really dead?" Ash asked Diantha starting to close the distance between him and the imposter. From what Diantha and Cynthia told him, Riley was supposed to be dead. Cynthia saw his dead body with her own eyes.

This aura signature was an imposter then or was the dead body really his.

A flying antenna came flying toward Ash and Diantha as he jumped away preventing it from hitting them as the person desperately threw anything toward them.

"Amature." Ash grumbled as his hand reached for his pokeball as he landed on his knees noticing two pokemon with the person.

What could have been a good choice here. Fighting on top of buildings on a moonlit night. Charizard was out of options, he is always his last resort. Sceptile could be a good choice but he need to catch the man too, Garchomp. Na he is too loud, it will gather too much unwanted attention. Tyranitar won't fight on top of buildings, infernape won't be a good option.

"I will help." Diantha said standing next to Ash holding her pokeball as Ash nodded his head.

"Then it is upto you Greninja." Ash threw the pokeball in air revealing his ninja pokemon who stood on the ledge of the building narrowing his eyes toward the Greninja.

A second pokemon emerged in front of Ash as he grinned. Diantha's Gardevoir was a good option here too. Its future sight, ability to sense danger, teleportation could come in handy.

The person on the other building stood behind his Scyther and Pidgeot narrowing their eyes toward the team they would face taking the first move. The sound of Scyther wings buzzing only things being heard with occasional sound of horns from the streets below.

Completely unaware of the death battle about to take place on the top of the city.

Ash's face glowed in the moonlight as he thoughts of a way out of this mess. This was bad. Diantha was with him. Every battle have their stakes, and every battle Ash was having for years had his and others lives on stakes.

"Lets take the first move. Water shuriken." Ash ordered as his Greninja jumped toward the other building creating sharp stars and throwing toward the bug.

"Hurricane." A soft voice calmly countered as Pidgeot flapped his wings as the dust on the roof flowed toward the Greninja deflecting the stars back toward him.

"Psychic on the stars." Diantha ordered as the Gardevoir eyes glowed in the darkness of the night. A faint blur covered the stars as they travelled their way back toward the bug pokemon as Greninja pulled out a kunai made of water and rushed toward the duo.
