The next day the girls were so excited to start the new day. Both girls had already joined their parents in bed and had a hard time staying quiet for Meredith as they were whispering as they were talking about the day they were about to start

"They have burgers with the faces of animals!" Ava told him with a lot of excitement

"Today will be nice" Meredith sighed as she turned slowly on her side and wrapped her arm around her daughter that was laying next to her

"Mommy!" The two girls giggled

"Hi" Meredith whispered but kept her eyes closed

"I'll go grab us some breakfast so mommy can rest a bit more" Derek kissed his three girls' heads and stood up to go downstairs where he prepared breakfast

Emma was facing her mother, Meredith's arms were protectively wrapped around her. Emma was softly brushing her fingers over Meredith's cold cheeks

"Hi mommy" Emma giggled

"Hmm.. Hi honey" Meredith groaned

"Daddy's getting breakfast"

"That's good honey" Meredith sighed as she felt completely exhausted

"Daddy!!" The two girls yelled as Derek walked back into the room

"Hmm" Meredith groaned at the sudden screams of their daughter

"Sorry mommy" Both girls whispered

"It's -kay" Meredith quietly whispered

"Here girls, let mommy sleep a bit longer" Derek put the tray down and turned on the tv. He hooked Meredith up so she had her breakfast as well

He climbed in the bed next to Meredith and put his fingers on her wrist to check her heart beat which was slow but strong

"Daddy you want a strawberry?" Ava asked

"Thanks honey" Derek took it out of Ava's hand and put it in his mouth

Carolyn and Christopher had come over to help Derek to get the girls ready while Derek had some time with Meredith to rest

"Nana, look at my onesie!" Ava smiled

"Wauw Ava, you look stunning. Emma, come show yours"

"Mommy and daddy need to see it first" Emma quietly said

"Well see me as your dresser, I'm here to make sure it's perfect before you go see mommy and daddy" Carolyn tried

"No!" Emma threw a fit

"Em, it's okay. Nana will help us" Ava said as she ran towards her sister who was hiding in her room

"I want mommy and daddy" Emma sobbed

"Should I go get them?" Ava held her sister's hand

"Maybe" Emma shrugged

"Maybe we should go to their room. We can show off" She giggled but Emma nodded

"Nana can't see" Emma whimpered as she stood up

"I'm closing my eyes honey, your mommy and daddy can see you first" Carolyn promised and covered her eyes with her hand

"Daddy, can we come in?" Ava asked as she opened the door

"Of course honey" Derek smiled

"Is mommy awake?" Ava asked before entering

"I'm awake honey" Meredith replied weakly

"Can we show our onesies?" Emma asked quietly, Derek and Meredith immediately knew something was up as they saw Emma's face, her eyes and nose red from crying
