Derek was holding Meredith as she was starting to feel sick but the girls were with them so Meredith was fighting it with her whole body
"Go.. With them" Meredith weakly fighted Derek
"I'm not leaving you" Derek sighed and held her
"Leave" She repeated sternly
Come on girls. Let's go check if we can get something in the vending machine" Derek led them outside and took a last look at Meredith before they walked out and frowned at seeing her struggle. He asked a nurse to check on her despite everyone being busy with the emergency
"Doctor Grey?" A young nurse walked in and was Meredith vomiting all over herself and almost choked in it
"Hmm" Meredith groaned as she kept vomiting causing her to be drenched in her own vomit
The nurse stood there until someone pushed her out of the way
"Oh sweetie, you're okay" Carolyn ran up to Meredith
"It's okay. It's okay" Christopher helped her sit up a bit more so she wouldn't choke
"Let's get you changed really quick" Carolyn brushed her hand over Meredith's forehead but she wasn't burning up, luckily
"Derek- Girls-" Meredith was fighting them
"They're getting ice cream now" Carolyn explained and started stripping Meredith out if her dirty clothes
Christopher lifted her so Carolyn could strip the sheets and clean them as well
It took a while before Meredith was fully dressed again as they had to stop several times because Meredith threw up once more, these times she was able to vomit into a bowl instead of over herself
"Hurts" Meredith whimpered "Aww"
"Here honey. Your girls left this for you" Christopher grabbed the stuffed bunny and tucked it into Meredith's neck
"Fluffy" Meredith mumbled
"Fluffy's here" Carolyn said as she exchanged a worried look with her husband
"Meredith, how are you feeling?" Christopher asked her
"Wanna go home. Wanna go to Lara" Meredith muttered
"Meredith, it's Carolyn. Carolyn and Christopher" She rubbed Meredith's arm
"Mommy-" Meredith whispered before she howled in pain
"She's delirious" Christopher sighed
"Meredith, try to nap a bit honey" Carolyn tried
"Home. Need to go home" Meredith whispered
"Once you're done here, not yet" Christopher sternly held her in place so she couldn't hurt herself while trying to get up
"Shh Mer" Carolyn kissed her forehead and watched as the younger woman fell asleep in their arms
...
Meredith had been giving them a hard time. She really wasn't feeling well and kept whimpering in Carolyn's arms
Christopher had called Derek to inform him Meredith wasn't doing very well so he was on his way. His parents would take the girls home and would wait till their parents came home
"Mommy!" The two girls ran in
"Emma, Ava! I said we couldn't enter" Derek tried to hold him but Emma could reach the bed where Meredith was shivering
"Mommy, are you okay?" Emma frowned
"Emmy-" Meredith whimpered
"It's -kay mommy" Emma climbed up the chair and kissed Meredith's cheek
"Derek-" Meredith cried out in pain
"Take them home" Derek said to his parents "Be good with Nana and Poppa" Derek told the girls
"Daddy, I wanna stay" Emma whined
"Mommy needs to sleep, baby. We'll be home in a few hours" He assured them
"Okay" Emma sighed and grabbed her jacket to follow her grandparents and sister out of the room
"Derek-" Meredith whimpered as she curled up in her husband's arms
"Shh, you're okay" He kept whispering
"Where- Where's Fluffy?" Meredith cloudy asked
"Mer, shh. Here's Fluffy" Derek said as he now knew she was delirious once again
"Go home-" She muttered
"We're going home in a few hours. You just need some sleep" Derek kissed Meredith's forehead
"Sleep.." She repeated
"Yes sleep" Derek said and paged Bailey
"Shepherd, what's wrong?" She ran inside a few minutes later
"Can you give her morphine? She's having a rough day" Derek asked as Meredith was still groaning and sniffling in his arms
Bailey nodded and return a few minutes later with a morphine drip that she injected in Meredith's port
"Here you go sweetie. This will make you feel much much better" Bailey said and rubbed the skin around the port "Her port seems a bit infected, I'll give her some antibiotics" Bailey said and hooked up Meredith to another IV
"Thanks. She was delirious earlier. I hate to see her like that" Derek said as his voice cracked
"It's hard to see people you love like that. Especially when they're as strong as her" Bailey squeezed Meredith's hand softly
"I hate that this is all happening to her. She deserves the world and then she seems to be having LFS" Derek sighed "I just want her to be able to cuddle up with the girls and me and watch movies, eat popcorn and laugh all night.." Derek said and Bailey noticed a few tears escaped his eyes
"She starts PT in a bit. Hopefully we get her energy up a little bit more so she can enjoy those things again" Bailey rubbed Derek's back softly
"She'll never be the same again and I don't mind. I couldn't bare the thought of not having her around" Derek cuddled her close in his arms
"Why don't you take a nap as well, she'll be out for a bit" Bailey said and stood up to cover both of them. As she walked out of the room she stopped for a minute to watch them through the window. She could still remember when Meredith started as her intern and she and Derek spent every free minute together. Or when Meredith announced her first pregnancy, or her second.. Bailey felt like a mother to Meredith and hated seeing her suffering
Finally! I feel like this isn't my best chapter but so be it for now ;p I just spend way too much money on new clothes because my depressed mind said I needed to dress more gay-ish.. Yeah I'm happy now. Sorry for my ramble, I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter
