"Safer?! What the hell are you talking about?!" Napasinghal ako't napasabunot sa sarili, hindi mapakali at pabalik-balik sa nilalakaran. "I am at risk here! My sanity is at risk here!"
"Girl, you were already crazy when we met!" Argentina snickered from the other line.
"Argentinaaa!" I wanted to yell at her so bad, but I couldn't risk Cyprus overhearing. My throat and neck started to hurt from all the restraining kaya napayuko na lamang ako sa sahig at dinaan ang lahat sa mahinang tili.
"Calm down, Mojojoe." She sighed. Knowing her, I'm pretty sure she was already rolling her eyes at me. "Cyprus works remotely. Lumalabas lang 'yan ng unit niya kung tatakbo sa umaga, nagre-report sa office, or may kailangang asikasuhin. Other than that, hindi 'yan lumalabas sa unit niya kaya wala kang dapat ipag-alala. Minsan lang kayong magkikita kahit nasa iisa lang kayong building, promise."
"Ay?" Wala sa sarili akong napatayo at napanguso.
Sa isang iglap, bigla akong nakarinig ng sigawan at tawanan mula sa kabilang linya. Nanigas ako sa kinatatayuan nang mabosesan ko sila.
"Sabi sa inyo may feelings pa eh!" kantyaw ni Goose.
"Disappointed si baby girl!" I heard Hope yell while laughing hard. "Chewy? Narinig mo 'yon? Tama pusta natin! May feelings pa talaga!"
"Joey, ang five hundred ko!" Iyak naman ni Izzy.
"'Yan! Wala kasing tiwala sa kamandag ng tiyuhin ko!" si Argentina.
"You put me on speaker?!" I clutched my chest and started wailing, still stomping around the floor. "And ba't pa kayo nagpustahan?! You guys know about my feelings from the get go!"
I felt like I was going nuts. Panay na lamang ang kamot ko nang marahas sa ulo habang mangiyak-ngiyak. "You guys are even hanging out without me! Grabe kayo! Mga salbahe!"
Panay pa rin ang tawanan nila. Tuwang-tuwa pa sa kalbaryo ng buhay ko.
"Then go hang out with the love of your life!" Hope said from the other line. My poor Hopie used to be so gentle and loving toward me, pero nahawa na siya sa pagiging alaskador ni Chewy! I hate them so much!
