I don't really know what this is. Just definitely fluff.

Lee Kangmu gasped awake, sitting up so fast it made his head spin.

It was dark.

Where am I?

It took a moment for him to remember. He wasn't in the dorm anymore. He was at Hanna's apartment, in her small guest room.

Hanna.

Visions flashed across his mind. Hanna being arrested by the ANSP and thrown into an interrogation room, which was a nice way of saying torture rack. Her being shot with nothing he could do about it. Her being killed in a gunfight.

Not all of those images had been true, but Kangmu had seen them before in his nightmares almost every night while he was at the dorm. He radioed her every day not only to ask the status of her mission, but also to make sure she was okay. Every call ended with a "stay safe".

Kangmu rubbed his eyes and laid back down, staring at the dark ceiling. After several minutes of tossing and turning, he gave up on falling back asleep. He threw aside the covers and stood, careful not to bump anything on his way out of the room.

Hanna's bedroom door quietly opened. The female agent was still asleep, her short black hair tangled on her pillow and her covers halfway over her face.

She woke abruptly, hearing a footstep in her room. On instinct, she grabbed the pistol that she kept on her nightstand.

Kangmu raised his hands over his head. "It's me. Don't shoot."

Hanna lowered the gun. "Timjangnim? What are you doing?"

"Um... I came to check on you."

"Check on me? In the middle of the night?"

"Yep," he said stiffly. "I'll be going now-"

"You sound rattled," she placed the gun back down. "What made you think I needed checking on?"

"Nothing," he said quietly. "Just a few nightmares. I had to see for myself that you were fine."

"Oh."

Awkward silence fell over the two.

"You should go back to sleep," Kangmu said.

"You too."

"I don't know if I can. I tried."

Hanna tossed aside the blankets, her legs dangling off the side of the bed. "What was your nightmare about?"

"Nothing," Kangmu insisted. "It's fine."

Hanna stood, walking over to him. She gently touched his face with the back of her fingers.

"Your face is cold," she said, voice lowering to a shy whisper. "Would... would it help if you slept here? You always used to sleep better if I was there."

"That was six years ago," Kangmu whispered back. "Isn't it too soon?"

"I'm okay with it if you are."

Kangmu took her hand in his. "Okay."

Hanna led him to her bed. He climbed into the other side.

"You know," Hanna said as both of them stared up at the ceiling. "I have nightmares about you all the time."

Kangmu turned to look at her. She kept her eyes fixed upwards.

"When you disappeared, I had nightmares about you leaving because you hated me. Then they turned to you being hunted down or killed in a fight. Then... you dying in my arms when you got shot in the dorm. Or you being blown up. Me not being able to find your body. Or you dying with Sooho."

"Hanna-ya..."

She shook her head, turning so her back faced him. "We can talk later in the morning. Get some sleep."

Her voice was fragile, something he hadn't heard in a long time. It kind of scared him.

"Jang Hanna."

"Yes?"

Kangmu leaned up on his elbow so he could look at her face— or at least the side of her face. He could see her eyes bright with tears that she tried to hide.

"I'm sorry for putting you through that," he said.

"Jal ja, Kangmu," Hanna murmured, pulling up the covers to her face again. She pressed the blanket against her eyes, blinking away her tears. He could hear her shaky breaths that she tried to quiet.

"Hanna," he whispered, pushing aside the blanket so he could see her face. "Come here."

She turned her head. "What-"

Kangmu gently grabbed her shoulders, hauling her into his arms. Hanna gasped, her face now pressed against his shoulder.

"If I remember correctly," Kangmu said. "You always slept better in my arms like this."

Han-mna shuddered, absorbing his touch. It had been much too long since she'd felt safe like this.

"Jal ja, Hanna," Kangmu muttered.

Hanna closed her eyes. "Jal ja."

Her breathing slowed, evening out to a soft and steady rhythm. Kangmu smiled, pressing a short kiss to the top of her head before letting himself fall asleep.

Hanna's eyes opened, and she looked up at the dark-haired man who held her as he slept.

Just for now, Hanna, she told herself. In the morning, we can pretend this never happened. Just for now.
