And yeah honestly I think that Hanna was really only shaped into the way she is in the show by the six years she spent as an ANSP agent after Kangmu disappeared. Before that I agree she was probably more sweet and innocent before heartbreak and becoming an agent hardened her.

Anyway, analysis over, on to the oneshot.

"Jang Hanna, I remember when I met you..."

Lee Kangmu stepped onto the impressively-sized estate of the Jang family, in the suburbs close to Seoul. He was twenty-five years old, and the newest agent in the employ of the Agency for National Security Planning based in the capital of South Korea. Since he'd only been working for the ANSP for a couple months, the chief of the Seoul chapter of Anti-Communist Investigations, Ahn Gyeonghui, had invited him to this gathering for agents and ANSP officials from all around Korea, and even a few from the abroad chapters, to meet and learn from the men who'd been in the espionage business for years, perhaps almost their whole lives.

The Jang clan was a rich and well-known family, and had been for generations. Their members have been involved in everything from the military to social work to governance. Jang Inseong, the current head of the family, was a powerful assemblyman and lawyer with a long history in politics. He was good friends with both the ANSP Director Eun Changsu and Chief Ahn Gyeonghui, and had always been a strong supporter of the ANSP as an organization.

Gyeonghui noticed Kangmu looking up at the Jang mansion with nervousness and apprehension.

"Lee Kangmu, there's no need to be nervous," Gyeonghui said. "You're not the first newbie they've ever met."

Kangmu nodded, but it didn't do anything to reassure him. He followed Gyeonghui and a few other agents from the Seoul chapter up the long stone staircase carved into the hill leading up to the mansion. Already he could hear people chatting and laughing from the house. As Gyeonghui rung the doorbell and stepped back to wait for someone to let them in, Kangmu tugged nervously at his grey blazer, looking up at the blue sky partially covered with streaky grey clouds.

The door opened, and a man in his late forties or early fifties greeted them, shaking hands with Gyeonghui and then each of the agents who'd come.

"Annyeonghaseyo, Jang Inseong-nim," Gyeonghui said, taking his sunglasses off and tucking them into his pocket.

"Chief Ahn," Inseong said with a nod, then turned to Kangmu. "You must be the new agent Gyeonghui-ssi was telling me about."

"Yes, sir," Kangmu bowed respectfully. "I'm Lee Kangmu."

Inseong nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Lee Kangmu-ssi. I'm sure you can learn a lot from the agents here."

"Yes sir, thank you," Kangmu said.

Inseong led Gyeonghui down the hall as the two men chatted. Ae Hasun, one of the senior agents, tapped Kangmu on the shoulder and showed him into the living room, where at least a dozen agents were hanging out and talking.

"This is Lee Kangmu," Hasun introduced him to the group. "He's our newest agent."

Kangmu bowed to them. "Annyeonghaseyo."

"Annyeonghaseyo, Lee Kangmu-ssi," one of the men said, standing. He looked to be around Kangmu's age. "I'm Kim Jinseong."

He gestured for Kangmu to sit on the chair besides his. The rest of the agents, including Hasun, resumed their conversations, aside from a few others introducing themselves.
