Loving and fighting, accusing, denying
I can't imagine a world with you gone

To say that Eun Yeong-ro and Lim Soo-ho had a complicated relationship would be an understatement. They'd fallen in love at first sight on a group blind date Soo-ho had been forced to go on, then she'd embarrassed herself in front of him along with a shop-full of people, then she'd saved him from the scrutinizing eyes of the local police before asking him to meet her at the cafe the next day.

He'd never shown up.

Six months later, Yeong-ro had returned from class to find a bloodied and unconscious body laying in her dorm room. She'd recognized his face immediately, even though she didn't know his name yet. She and her roommates had hidden him from the ANSP agents tracking him down with the help of Kim Man-dong, the facility manager at the dorm. A couple days later, he'd posed as her date to the open house so he could escape undetected.

But then he'd returned, carrying a pack full of weapons and being pursued by the same ANSP agents. A firefight had broken out, with the students of Hosu University stuck in the middle. The ANSP team leader Lee Gang-mu had ordered the armed units' retreat in order to protect the college girls, and Soo-ho had taken him hostage as a kind of insurance. The ANSP had been planning their break-in to the dorm for days, as inside the building Soo-ho and Gang-mu teamed up to save the students from the ANSP, who were willing to kill them all in order to keep them quiet about the whole hostage scenario being an election scheme so the ruling party could keep power.

The joy and the chaos, the demons we're made of
I'd be so lost if you left me alone

Today was the day of reckoning. Soo-ho and his Northern comrades had successfully escaped the dorm, before two of them had been killed by Man-dong, another Northern agent ordered to eliminate them for betraying their party. The third agent had fled on a boat, but Soo-ho couldn't make himself leave. Eun Yeong-ro was in danger. He had to make sure she was all right.

He'd told her that he'd forget about her as soon as he left the dorm, but that wasn't true. Her face appeared in his mind every time he closed his eyes.

He had to go back.

So he did, taking out the armed forces stationed outside the secret shrine entrance to the dorm. He found Gang-mu and the students there, ushering them out to a bus Gang-mu's colleague Jang Han-na had driven to transport the girls safely away. His dark eyes scanned each face as they fled into the fresh air that they haven't breathed for days.

He didn't see her.

"Where's Eun Yeong-ro?" He asked.

"I don't see Ms. Pi or Ms. Oh either," Gang-mu said.

Soo-ho didn't wait for Gang-mu to radio Han-na and tell her what was going on. He ran down the stairs, clutching his gun, ready to blast anyone who dared lay a finger on his Yeong-ro to pieces. Gang-mu followed him, and they found Ms. Pi, Yeong-ro, Bun-ok, and Ms. Oh, who'd been crushed by a wooden panel after accidentally setting off one of the booby traps. By now, the SWAT team had broken in and were searching for Soo-ho. He lobbed a grenade at four of them, creating a smokescreen behind which they were able to escape back down to the basement, where another unit caught up with them. Gang-mu and Soo-ho covered the others as they fled up the stairs. Only Yeong-ro had stayed, unwilling to leave Soo-ho behind.

There were reinforcements coming. Soo-ho ordered Gang-mu to take Yeong-ro and get to safety. Gang-mu and Yeong-ro had protested, but Soo-ho was insistent, and as more troops approached, Gang-mu dragged a crying Yeong-ro away from the former North Korean agent.
