Canon-divergent. If Hanna hadn't been dragged out from the dorm by the soldiers.

Hanna huddled behind the broken statue, arms wrapped around a bleeding Kangmu. Little crystals from the fallen chandelier, some red with blood, lay scattered everywhere around them. There was a wall of armed soldiers between them and the spy, who had a student hostage by the arm.

"Hold on, timjangnim," she whispered, her hands covered in his blood. "I'm getting you out of here."

The spy pulled the pin out of a grenade and held it above his head, ready to blast them all to pieces.

"Get out," Kangmu ordered the soldiers. He wasn't about to waste so many lives, including the innocent girls in the dorm with them.

"Come on," Hanna said, wrapping an arm under Kangmu's good shoulder. He stood shakily, expression tightening in pain with every movement.

"Wait," the spy said.

Hanna glanced over her shoulder, seeing his grenade leveled at her face.

"You're in charge, right?" The spy asked, pointing at Kangmu with the grenade. "You stay."

"What?" She demanded. "No! He's been shot!"

"If you try anything," he said, "I'll kill him first."

"All right," Kangmu relented. "I'll stay. But let the students go."

"Are you crazy?" Hanna demanded.

The spy brought out his pistol with his other hand and cocked it.

"Shoot me if you want," she said, almost daring him to. "I'm staying with him."

"Jang, are you insane?" Kangmu hissed. "Go!"

Hanna kept staring down the spy. Two soldiers grabbed her arms, wrenching her away from Kangmu.

"No!" Hanna screamed. "Let me go! He's wounded!"

The spy tilted his head. "Let her stay."

He could use her.

The soldiers released Hanna, and she immediately ran back to Kangmu's side. The main doors of the dorm shut behind the soldiers.

Kangmu gritted his teeth. He wanted to yell at her, but he wouldn't do so in front of the spy

"Comrades Eung-cheol and Joo," the spy said to two of his men. "Tie them up in a different room. If either tries anything funny, shoot the other."

"Yes, sir," one of the spies stepped forward with his gun. He grabbed both Hanna's and Kangmu's arms, forcing them to walk with him. Kangmu winced with every sharp pull.

"Don't hold him so tight," Hanna said. "You're hurting him."

The other spy who'd been walking behind them kicked her in the back of her knee. She fell, turning just in time for the stock of an AK-47 to be slammed into her shoulder. Hanna yelped in pain, covering her head with her arms. She was beaten with the stock several more times until her arms and shoulders were numb and blood was trickling down the side of her head. The sound of the gun smashing into her body and Kangmu's and the terrified students' frantic shouts and cries all blurred in her mind.

"Comrade Joo," the other spy said. "That's enough. I'll handle them."

The second spy glared at Hanna and Kangmu one more time before stalking off.

"Hanna," Kangmu said, kneeling next to her. "Are you okay?"

Hanna didn't respond. Her head was still spinning too much from the blows.

Two hands grabbed her and forced her into a sitting position. A cloth was tied around her eyes, blocking her vision.

"Unless you want another beating," the first spy said. "You'll cooperate."

Hanna struggled to her feet, only to be once again grabbed by the arms and hauled along. She heard a door being opened, and she and Kangmu were shoved inside. They were pushed forward a few more steps until they were made to sit in two separate chairs. Hanna heard the sounds of ropes tightening and Kangmu grunting in discomfort. The spy must have been tying him up first.

That suspicion was soon confirmed as Hanna's own arms were pinned to the sides of the chair and tied at the wrists. More rope went around her ankles and waist. Her chair was shoved backwards a foot or so, until it met something solid. She heard breathing close behind her head, and when she leaned her neck backwards she felt the back of Kangmu's head touching her own.

Eung-cheol finished tying the two agents' chairs together. If they tried to move in the chairs, they'd have a better chance of just knocking themselves over. And since the team leader had a gunshot wound, he doubted the girl would try that.

He double-checked the knots before standing and leaving, shutting the door behind him.

"Are you okay?" Kangmu whispered once his footsteps had faded.

"Am I okay?" Hanna repeated incredulously. "You're the one with a bullet in your shoulder!"

"Nevermind that," he said. "You got beaten."

She scoffed. "I'm fine."

"There was blood on your face."

"Seriously, timjangnim," Hanna said, leaning back just so her head barely touched his. "Stop worrying. Let's focus on getting out of here."

Kangmu struggled in his bonds. There was just enough slack in the rope tying his hands for him to extend his fingers and wrap them around Hanna's. She tensed at the unexpected touch, but the warmth of his hand calmed her a little.

"We'll find a way," he said. "Just be patient. And don't say anything that'll get you beaten again."
