I stood by my full length mirror watching my reflection as my white glittery bridal gown befitted my body and it tailed behind me with the veil trailing from my head fixed with my head tie to the floor. My makeup was casual and heart warming that blended with my complexion, perhaps the day before, was the bridal shower which was held without the Groom but this was different, because it was the day the knot will be tied and I will be Khalil's wife.
"You look beautiful MashaAllah". Aunty Safiyya said standing beside me.
I took a deep breath, inhaling back my tears, hence I always dreamt of myself getting married with Ammi right by me but I couldn't but be saddened by her absence. "Thank you". I smiled whilst the ladies entered the room.
"Just look at our bride!". Layla exclaimed standing beside me. They all wore a matching nude bridesmaid dresses that all fitted them.
"Oh em gee!". Wajdan said mouth agape.
"You look stunning Aunty". Raliya complimented fixing my veil whilst I smiled at them.
"My brother is very lucky!". Khulthum deadpanned emphasizing the 'very' whilst I beamed at her.
"Don't make me cry, you are sooo beautiful!". Lujaina added earning a laugh from me, whilst she wiped her teary face, probably her pregnancy hormone kicking in.
"Manal, you girls should stop running around the house!". I heard Aunty Asiya said before opening the door holding Khalifah, and entered with Aunty Umaima behind.
"MashaAllah, our bride is gorgeous". Aunty Asiya hugged me and I pecked Khalifa's forehead whilst Aunty Umaima agreed and hugged me too.
The twins and Amrah rushed into the room breathing heavily and they all engulfed me into a hug. "Aunty are you Ya khalil's wife?". Amrah asked, as I nodded, she squealed jumping which made me laugh.
Khulthum answered a call and excused herself out of the room for awhile before entering the room. "In_law, this is for you". She handed an envelop to me whilst I unwrapped it to a letter.

"You are really lucky Ikhbal". Zainab added.
"Thank you". I beamed as the makeup artist fixed my makeup.
"MashaAllah, the knot is tied and Ikhbal is now Khalil's wife". Aunty Amina announced with Aunty Asma'u behind her.
"MashaAllah!". Aunty Safiyya exclaimed.
"Alright, the Groom's family and friends are yet to enter the house, so you should get ready to take the bride downstairs". Aunty Asma'u said.
The make_up artist finished touching on my make_up, fixed my veil and I checked myself for the last time before Aunty Safiyya veiled my face whilst the house was filled with ballyhoo indicating that the groom has arrived from the mosque and I felt a glimpse of nervousness as my heart started beating faster.
