"Hello ma'am". A security guard said coming toward us."Hi, how may I help you?" I asked while Layla was putting our bags in the car.
He shifted a bit. "Are you miss Ikhbal Adam?" He asked.
"Yes" I answered looking confused.
"A guy in a gray SUV is pleading for your attention". He stated pointing to the car parked at the opposite side, which wasn't familiar.
"I don't know the car and I'm not sure if I will know the owner", I said turning to enter my car.
"He said his name is Sadiq", the guard said whilst I glanced at the car when I saw a guy standing beside the car and waving at me, then I recognized him.
"Okay thank you", I said to the guard and he left. "Layla my so-called prince charming is over there", I said pointing at him.
"Awwwn! let's go then". She said closing the car and we strolled towards him.
"You didn't tell me you were coming back today and how do you know I'm here? " I asked.
"And I didn't forget to say my salam, salam alaikum(peace be upon you)". He said waving at layla whilst I just smiled and answered.
"Wa'alaikum salam sadiq(peace be upon you too)", she answered.
Sadiq was a guy I met in my first year at school, he was gentle and nice but there was something about him I didn't really get along with, him hanging around with girls calling them friends.
He was studying Medicine and he was in his final year now. He helped me with most of my studies and the directions to some places in the school of course."Well I decided to come see you today and I came to buy some stuffs when I saw you entering the mall, so I decided to wait for you". He said beaming.
"Okay.. all this while! well thank you I guess...", I trailed.
"Great, where are you heading to from here?" He asked.
"Uhmm! we are going to the salon and home absolutely". I said as I was truly itching to go back to my room, because I was really not enjoying crowd and the mall was starting to get crowdy with lots of people, though that mostly happened on weekends.
He stirred. "Can I take you to eat tonight, not a date just normal friends hang out with both of you". He said nervously.
Layla grinned "That's great! I'm craving a pizza and burger an...". I cut her through.
"Layla please!" I hesitated before nodding. "Okay its fine with me". I said finally. "Anywhere specific?" I asked.
Looking excited he said. "I had already planned it, can we meet up at 8pm, definitely after Isha' prayer(one of the obligatory prayer), I will come pick you up okay?".
"Okay". We said in unison and we waved at him goodbye. We entered the car and exited the mall, heading to the salon which was 15mins drive.
"Finally Ikhbal is going on a date! is he going to propose there? I wish I knew what he planned for you, Can I call my brother Salim? he will act like my date so that I will not look like I'm a single dude, you see that's double date". she stated excitedly.
Talking of her brother, Layla was the only female child of her family. She has 4 brothers, 3 eldest and 1 younger, which Salim was her immediate elder brother, who had always been defendant to us in school with most of the troubles 'she created', with that nobody dared to bully us at school (primary to secondary).
"Ohh! Layla you don't have to call your brother, and I don't even want to go, I just felt bad for always rejecting hanging out with him which was mostly because of my studies and its not a 'date' its friends hang out got it?" I rolled my eyes.
