Khalil's POV.
I watched her amazed that she still sees me as her friend, hence I already thought she had neglected our friendship albeit I still had a glimpse of hope that in what its said to be future she would finally accept my proposal.
"Ohh!". I uttered lost of word. "I mean, thank you for still seeing me worthy of being your friend and not just for saying sake but I will like to assure you that I will never break your trust at whatsoever relationship Allah will destined for us InshaAllah". I said whilst she looked at me clearly pondering. "I know you build a wall around your heart but all I need is your trust, for I will not hesitate to pick the bricks one by one and let them down, for you to let me into your heart".
She swiveled her eyes looking right at me and sighed. "Khalil I...".
"Please take your time to give it a thought and whatever your answer may be its respectable by me".
She thought for awhile. "Okay".
"And.. I just want to meet you before traveling tomorrow". I said as I was traveling to Paris for one of my long awaited meetings.
"Oh! Okay, safe trip".
I grinned at the glimpse of sadness on her face which elevated my hope. "Are you going to miss me?". I teased, after all I missed our friendly gestures and I wouldn't want to change that for anything. Perhaps it was said that the best relationship is when two people have different mindset, peculiar to our humorous senses.
She glared at me stifling a smile. "Who said so?!". As the smile betrayed her.
I shrugged. "Well, I will miss you". Whilst she turned her face hiding a blush.
"Goodnight Khalil". She said and started walking.
"Ikhbal". I called out and she turned. "I will be waiting". She awkwardly nodded and dashed into the house whilst feeling restful, I hopped into my car and drove home.
I parked at the parking lot, hopped out and walked to the living room whilst at the entrance, the previous scenario came flowing back to me.
Flashback:
"We want you to marry A'isha". The word that my mom uttered, kept replaying in my head as I sat motionless registering for what to utter.
"Mom why will you ask him to marry me without confirming if we both want that?!". A'isha said looking both her parents whilst I just watched them blankly.
"A'isha its not like we have to confirm anything because it is clear the you both like each other". A'isha's mother explained.
A'isha turned to me. "Even if you think we like each other, that will lies because we are Family friends ever since we were younger and I always sees him as a friend".
"Khalil do you like A'isha?". A'isha's dad asked.
I looked up at him. "I don't know what to say...".
"Khalil has someone that he likes". A'isha blurted out whilst the whole people turned their attention to me.
"You what?!". My mom exclaimed.
"Who is she?". A'isha's mother asked. "Who is the girl that wants to shatter our dream of seeing you both married?". She added.
"Can you let him speak!". A'isha's dad said clearly annoyed.
"Dad, it is obvious that we don't want to marry each other". Aisha interjected as the room was quiet.
"Khalil you never told us that you like someone else not A'isha and we thought talking you both to this will work". My dad said.
"Dad can we talk about this some other time?". And the second he nodded I excused myself before anyone could object and dashed into my chamber.
End of Flashback:
I changed my clothes into pyjamas, prayed and before I could lay on my bed, my phone rang with my mom's name and I swiftly took off to her chamber, though I thought she was asleep which I didn't bothered visiting her chamber.
I knock before entering to meet my dad and mom seated in her living room as their stance indicated that I would face a serious talk. I quietly strode to them, greeted them and sat adjacent to my mom.
"Khalil you didn't tell me you are traveling tomorrow morning". My mom said. Perhaps she must've investigated from my manager Hakim as he likely fill her to most of my businesses.
"I thought you were not awake that's why I didn't visit earlier".
"Khalil we called you here to talk about what occurred with the Daura Family". My dad started referring to A'isha's Family. "It was unfortunate that your mom told me you will approve of the marriage because you like A'isha but I didn't expected it to revolve that way. And the main question here is about the girl A'isha mentioned that you liked whom we will be expecting to meet soon". He stated.
"But we can talk again with the Daura Family, I think it's some inconvenience...".
Dad cuts in mom's statement. "We don't have to talk anything to the Daura Family, it is clear that this children did not want to marry each other, so I think it is best we leave it that way". He said.
She looked unconvinced and turned to me. "Who is the girl that you like?". She asked.
I lowered my head. "Her name is Ikhbal".
"Do we by any chance know of her Family name or status?".
"Do you have to ask that Nafisa?!". He said to my mom whilst she kept shut as he usually called her real name when he was fed up. "By the way, I will like you to be sure of your decision as I wouldn't want it to take longer than necessary before meeting her Family InshaAllah".
I nodded. "InshaAllah, thank you dad".
"You may leave". I bade them goodnight and exited to my room. The moment I closed my door behind me, I was jubilating with joy that I am getting closer to the light at the end of my tunnel.
I bounced on my bed and swiftly unlocked my phone and entered my gallery to watch the picture of the one person my heart has been yearning for 'Ikhbal', which I once stalked into her Instagram page and munched her one and only profile picture.
I watched her bright blue eyes, glowed skin, and million pounds smile as she was the most gentle and beautiful soul I had ever knew with whom I dreamt of loving and living the rest of my life with. I scrolled up to exit when one picture captured my gaze, which was of me and a bit younger A'isha on my Graduation day.
However A'isha has been a good friend to me but anticipating the thought of marrying her from both our parents was unfortunate because all we see ourselves were friends and only friends, but the one question in my mind was; how did she knows that I like Ikhbal?.
*****
Hi guys, I know you guys were terrified in the previous Khalil's POV, that Khalil will be forced to marry A'isha but surprisingly A'isha wasn't conjoined to it. *sigh* And you guys can suggest a 'ship' name for our handsome Khalil and damsel Ikhbal, I guess it's time for the ship to sail(woohoo!).
And the votes are still pending, I'm not getting lots of votes which is what usually makes my screaming hands to keep on typing and perhaps I'm trying my best to finish this book in time, which is why I'm giving you guys loads of updates every week, so a credit on that will be appreciated. Forever love from your lovely Author and don't forget to vote, share, comment and follow.
STAY AWESOME.Xoxo
