When you got back to your office you immediately shut the door behind you and discarded your belongs to the first surface you saw before plopping down in your desk chair to process what in the hell had just happened.

How was it that you could go years without seeing Jake Kiszka and now suddenly he was popping up what seemed like everywhere?

You sat in your chair staring straight ahead at the wallpaper of you, Calum, and Duke on your computer screen trying to wrap your head around the fact that your ex boyfriend was now about to come back into your life. When you started to think in depth about it, it made you physically nauseous.

Some people would probably think you were overreacting about this.
"It's just a boy. It was practically five years ago, now you have an amazing guy that you love and you're going to marry." And well, that's not wrong. But considering the countless hours you had spent crying to Ivy and Calum (before you were dating of course) about how the first love of your life had broken your heart without a second thought, talking to your therapist, mentally and physically getting back into the headspace TO find happiness again, it was hard for you to NOT act like this.

After you had been in your office for a while you heard a few faint knocks at your door.

"Come in." You forced out in almost a whisper.

The door slowly cracked open as Ivy poked her head halfway into the room, "Hey babe. I just wanted to come check on you. Are you okay?"

You looked at her and laughed flatly, "Yeah, I'm okay."

But you knew that she knew you better than that.

Ivy made her way into the room shutting the door behind her before walking over and propped herself on the edge of your desk like she had done earlier that morning, "Yeah that's what I figured. This is probably a dumb question but do you want to talk about it?"

You sighed and looked down at your hands.
You had absentmindedly been circling your engagement ring on your finger since you had returned to your office, "I don't really think I would even begin to know what to say. It's like my mind is going in a thousand different directions but yet I can't form a single coherent thought to save my life."

You said glancing back to Ivy as she nodded, "Yeah I get that. I'm so sorry this is happening Fare. Especially right now. I tried to talk to dad again after everyone left, obviously I didn't tell him anything about your history with Jake because it's not my place to tell, but I really did try. I even tried just to get him to let me switch someone with you so I could manage them during all this but he didn't budge."

You nodded and gave your friend a half smile, "I know you did, and I appreciate it more than you know. But I'll be okay after the shock wears off...I think." You sighed, rubbing your temples, "God now I've got a migraine."

Ivy stood from your desk holding out her hand towards you, "Come on."

You raised an eyebrow at her but didn't move, "Where are we going..?"

She laughed grabbing your hand anyways, halfway pulling you up from your chair, "Well after you left the meeting and I was talking to dad, I told him the reason you were acting so weird and had to leave was because you hadn't felt well the last two days....and he said for you to take the rest of the day off. Sooo you're going home and I'm going to drive you."

You sat back down, pulling your hand away from her as she frowned, "Ivy I can't just leave. We have so much to do and I'm not leaving you to do it all."
