WE'RE FINALLY HERE 😬 🥳
This chapter is most definitely a doozy...and VERY long!! (Yes I know I say that every time I post 🥴)
But this is the longest chapter I've posted thus far which is why I decided to split it into two parts, it will take a bit to get through!
So go get some snacks, a cozy blanket, cuddle up and enjoy!!

***Also, this chapter talks about underage drinking so if that is a trigger for you, don't read or skip past that part!***

April 8th 2017

You absolutely hated the rain.
It always made you so grumpy and tired.
Not to mention unproductive.
All you could think about as you stared out the window of your and Jakes bedroom was how you wished you could go get a glass of wine, a fluffy blanket, and curl up on the couch with a good book.

You sighed, remembering you actually had things to do, slowly shuffling back to the laundry basket on your bed full of clean clothes.
That was another thing you hated.
Folding freaking clothes.
Add that to the pouring rain outside and you had yourself a crappy day.
Ugh stupid rainy day bad mood.

You had just gotten finished folding the clean laundry and putting it all away when your phone started to ring.

You took it out of your pocket, your heart immediately jumping in your chest at seeing one of your favorite persons picture flashing across the screen.
Jake.
Good mood restored.

You grinned and picked up your phone "Hello?"

"Hey baby. What are you doing?" Jake replied, the smile evident in his voice as well.

"Oh nothing really. I just put up some clean clothes and was trying to figure out what we should do for dinner." you replied sitting down on the edge of the bed.

He let out a heavy sigh, "Well that's actually why I called you. We're going to be a little later than I had originally expected over here....I'm really sorry. With the music video getting ready to be released and the EP we're just trying to make sure everything is ready to go."

Greta Van Fleet had signed a record deal with Lava Records in March.
On top of that, they had just released "Highway Tune" on iTunes a few days prior.
The music video was set to come out on the 18th, their EP Black Smoke Rising to follow shortly after on the 21st, and then they were planning to tour with The Struts beginning in May.
It seemed like everything was happening all at once but you absolutely loved it for Jake.
For all of the guys.
You had always known how talented they were, you were just waiting for everyone else to realize it too. This was his dream and it was actually happening for him.

You couldn't have been more proud.

You laughed, "Jake, it's fine. I understand. It's no big deal. You know you don't ever have to apologize to me for living your dream. I've only ever wanted this and more for you."

He sighed again but this time with relief, "I love you so much Farren."

You felt like your heart was going to completely burst out of your chest, you did anytime you talked to him, "I love you too Jake. Don't try and rush back, do whatever you need to do. I'll make sure there is enough supper for everyone that way you guys have something to eat when you get home."

You currently lived in a house with all four of the guys in Nashville.
They had decided a few months prior that with their music taking off this would be the best option to help them succeed.
Which you absolutely agreed with.
Although you and Jake were dating and HAD been dating for almost 5 years, you had no intention of going with him.
This was his journey, which you supported 100% percent, but you were fully ready to travel to Nashville and visit Jake any chance you could so he could focus on pursuing his career in music.
