You had the air on at full blast in your car as you did everyday on your ride to work, hair blowing wildly while you sang along to the Fleetwood Mac song on the radio;

"And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain" you belted at the top of your lungs.

When you moved to LA from Nashville you knew you would have to adjust to the change in the weather and although it was pretty hot in the south, you still weren't used to the dry humid heat that was Los Angeles.

You quickly pulled into the parking lot of Staples Center, because as usual, you were running late for work. As you parked your car in your spot the Fleetwood Mac song had finally ended and you could absentmindedly hear the radio host talking. You weren't really paying attention to what was being said until you heard it, making you freeze immediately,

"These guys are definitely making a name for themselves, and all the way from Frankenmuth, Michigan! Here's the latest by Greta Van Fleet!"

Even hearing their name made you nauseous. As the familiar chords began to play you could feel the chills forming down your spine, even in this heat.
You quickly turned it off and took a quick second to mentally pull yourself together.
I mean hearing their name and a few seconds of a song shouldn't affect you THIS much still....should it?
Shaking the thoughts from your mind, you grabbed your bag, and got out of your car to head inside.

You waved a quick hello to Casey at the front desk as you ran down the deserted corridor, the heels of your boots clicking away as you did so.
When you finally reached the end of the hallway you burst into your office almost dropping your phone and keys in the process.
You heard someone snicker from behind you as you plopped down in your desk chair.
Your best friend/coworker Ivy leaned against the doorframe with an amused look on her face, "Wow. 9:08, only 8 minutes late, that has to be a new record."

You put your belongings in your desk drawer and quickly logged onto your computer as you rolled your eyes "Listen you know I hate Mondays. Traffic was brutal on the 101 this morning, plus I woke up 45 minutes late because I forgot to set my alarm last night. Anddd I've just now realized that I forgot my cof-"

You didn't even get to finish before she had walked over to your desk and proceeded to hand you a Starbucks cup over your computer.

"I figured you would so I stopped on my way in this morning and got your usual for you, along with a refresher for me." She grinned.

Ivy was the first friend you had made when you moved to LA.
Your closest childhood friend Mackenzi still lived in Nashville, and although you spoke regularly, the distance was hard on you two and your relationship. Plus to top it all off you weren't exactly a very outgoing person so moving to a new place and trying to make friends was extremely hard.
Ivy was the closest, really the ONLY "girl" friend you had here.

"UGH I LOVE YOU. You're honestly the best." you replied slowly taking a sip.
You sighed leaning back in your chair as the warm liquid slid down your throat.
Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad Monday after all.
