August 11th 2021 (still)

You told Ivy to go ahead and get in your car before you dialed Andrews number and walked a few feet away.

With each ring you felt more and more like you were going to throw up.

It's not that you were scared of Andrew, your best friend dad, but you were pretty terrified of Andrew your boss and owner of freaking Staples Center.

Yes they were two different people..

Well except for that time you came back to their house drunk in the middle of the night and Andrew scared the shit out of you but you already heard that story...

"Farren?"

You gulped, "A-Andrew..?"

"Can you explain to me why I'm getting phone calls asking me about some sort of love triangle?" He asked flatly.

You could tell he was annoyed.

"I-I don't know...well, I mean I guess I do? But there isn't a, uh love triangle..."

"The photos I've seen...this doesn't look good Farren. At all. I mean we just started promoting the Deck the Halls show. The last thing we need is bad publicity. And it really doesn't look good that you just announced both 5 Seconds of Summer and Greta Van Fleet would be performing at the show, and now you're being accused of being with a member...or members of both groups."

You could feel more tears pricking your eyes, "I-I know. I can't even begin to express how sorry I am." You said shakily.

"What's going on? Where is all this coming from?"

You sighed.
There was no point in keeping it a secret anymore.
Amber had made sure to announce it to the world so you knew it would be all over the internet by now.
So you told him everything from start to finish.
Dating Jake, cheating with Sam, not speaking for 4 years, your birthday, Nashville, all of it.

He was silent for a few moments after you finished, clearly taking it all in before he finally spoke, "Wow. That was...a lot."

"Yeah." You squeaked out, wiping the tears from your face.

Silence again.
You could tell he was trying his best to process everything you had just told him.
But it was, a lot.
So you let him think.

"Do we know how this girl could've even found out all this information? About your past I mean?"

"No. I have never seen her before in my life. The only people that know about my past with Jake are our families and very close friends. And I know none of them would contact a tabloid or radio station about it..." You said with a sniffle.

He let out a deep sigh, "Farren, honey, you know I've thought of you as a daughter since day one. I'd do absolutely anything for you. Calum too. I love you both...hell I've only met Jake twice but he seems like a very nice young man. I would just hate to see any of you get hurt."

"I'm so sorry that this is happening Andrew. I would never do anything purposefully to badly represent you or the show. But I can assure you that there is nothing going on between Jake and I. I love Calum." You said, more tears streaming down your face.

Except this time you didn't wipe them away or try to stop them because you knew there was no point.

"Oh honey don't cry. I know you do. I believe you." He replied matter of factly, "I think it might be in our best interest to sit down together and discuss what needs to happen from here. How to handle this per say.."
