She grumbled to herself for getting so easily troubled as she scrutinised the corridors, looking for any sign of Riddle. She was supposed to be keeping him distracted but now she wasn't even sure of his whereabouts.

It was her fault for being such a daydreamer even in such extreme conditions, how was it that she still managed to get so caught up in her thoughts? She felt a presence behind her and nearly sighed in relief.

"Hello there, Valentine." A familiar voice sang. She turned and to her horror saw Michael Mulciber standing behind her. Her heart sank. She was shocked to realise she had wished it was Tom.

"Mulciber." She smiled unconvincingly. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"My dislike of you," He bared his teeth like he was attempting to smile but it came out like a snarl, yet no noise came from it. "I think it's about time we had a little heart to heart." He put his arm around her and forced them to walk in the opposite direction. "Settle our differences."

She was taken aback by the nonchalance in his voice yet ferocity of his hand. He'd seemingly left most of the passive out of his aggressive.

"Well I'm flattered, truly. But I'm actually rather busy." She attempted to move but his grip tightened around her shoulder, his nails digging into it.

"I'm sure you are. So tell me Kiara, are you pure blood?"

"I don't think that's any of your business." She grimaced.

"A suspicious answer that, if you ask me."

"I didn't."

His grip was now starting to hurt and she could feel hot magic being released from his fingertips in underlying anger. She quickly muttered a shielding spell against it, she knew uncontrolled magic could be some of the most dangerous of all. She was shocked at his carelessness, he was much too old to be behaving so undisciplined, this was completely inappropriate.

"You really do have everyone here fooled." He smiled. "Even the boys don't believe you're all bad, but you don't fool me. I know you've got it in for Riddle, on a personal level I mean. Have done since the day you came here and that so happens to mean that I have got it in for you."

"I haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about Michael. I do apologise,"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about," She heard the snarl this time. "and I'm warning you in advance to think very carefully about your next steps going forward. You should know that anything you will try to do to him you will be doing to us as a collective,"

"I'm still not seeing a problem here."

"I have no qualms on carrying out my own repercussions and lending karma a hand with her payback. And I hope I am being clear in my emphasis of the fact that I will be only too happy to carry out any task I see fit. Even on a lady, if needs be."

"I'm shaking, truly." She narrowed her eyes at him and his own pupils dilated in staring right back of her, leading them without so much as a glance to where they were headed.

"You are funny, Valentine. Very funny. But funny won't keep you alive,"

He had hissed the last word like it was a curse and she instantly attempted to pull out of his tight grasp, mouth agape in the shock at this threat escalating to one of murder so openly.

"What did you just say?"

"Mulciber."

He instantly froze, his hands still gripped on both her shoulders as they turned their heads to see Riddle stood in the middle of the empty hallway, hands in pockets looking perfectly vacant.
