Neither of them had spoken to each other when they got back to Lydia's apartment.
The whole ride back, not a word.
Lydia was convinced she made it awkward. She didn't think that's what Stiles wanted, actually, she wasn't sure that's what she wanted either.
Awkward sipping and quick glances was all it was for about an hour.
"Finished?" Stiles asked.
Lydia just looked at him with wide eyes.
"With you're coffee I meant" He blushed.
"Oh" She sighed "Yeah"
He reached for her coffee, their fingers brushed against each other. Lydia swore she saw a firework show go on in her head. She started nervous sweating.
Stiles felt his heart sink to his stomach.
"Are we gonna talk about this?" He said sitting far from Lydia.
"About?" She questioned him raising her eyebrows, fiddling with her nail beds.
"What you said" He swallowed. "In the car?"
"Not unless you don't" Her heart picked up the pace.
"Lydia, I've been in love with you since third grade"
She slouched and stared at the floor. "I know"
"So yes" He scooted closer to her. "I most defiantly wanna talk about this"
Lydia felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand straight up as he reached for her hands.
"I've never wanted something more in my life."
"Do you know how hard it was for me to see you with Malia?" Lydia teared up. "I didn't know how much I" She stopped.
"Lyds its okay"
She shook her head. "No it's not, that's not fair to you"
"What?" He turned his head.
"I'm the reason you and Malia broke up." The words fell from her lips.
"What are you talking about Lydia" He said stern.
"Don't make me say it again" A tear fell down her cheek and landed on Stiles' hand, she was surprised he hadn't left yet.
"Lydia I don't care"
"Yes you do"
"No I don't" He stood up. "You're the one I've always been in love with not her. Do you remember how it was in High School? I tried so hard to get you. Now that I have my chance I'm not gonna let it blow out the window just because of one little flaw."
"I have a lot of flaws" She cried.
"So do I" He was sitting now and he lifted Lydia's head to position it in front of him. "Lydia" He whipped a stay tear. He crashed his lips against hers. Her mouth was dry and her face was wet from tears. Lydia was intoxicated by his breaths, his tongue swiped across her bottom lip.
Lydia moved her lips over his until her lungs burned for oxygen and lifted up.
"Wow" She laughed quietly.
"I love your flaws" He whispered pulling her closer.
She gripped his t-shirt pulling him tighter. "And I love yours"
-
"What even is today?" Isaac asked Lydia.
"Wednesday?" She said uncertain.
"So when did he leave?" Scott asked.
"You love him" Isaac smiled a cheeky smile.
"Shut up" Lydia threw an empty box at him.
"Remind me again why you're little boy-toy isn't helping us unpack you're shit?" Isaac snapped.
"His dad wanted to see him jackass"
"Of course" He grunted.
"I'm paying you aren't I?"
"No? What the fuck" Isaac said as he was rummaging through another box.
Scott and Lydia laughed.
"So" Scott started.
"So?" Lydia looked at him.
"Is he coming back tonight though?"
"Not that I know of?"
"Hmm" Scott sang.
"Why?"
"We should go out tonight?" He grinned. "The five of us?"
"Five?" Isaac questioned.
"You, me, Lydia, Stiles, and Kira." He looked away.
"Kira?"
"Who the fuck is Kira?" Isaac laughed.
"My friend" Scott said with is nose in the air.
"Sure she is" Isaac reassured.
-
"Isaac's going?" Stiles asked through the phone.
"Yeah, that's okay right?" Lydia exclaimed.
"Sure, and who is this Kira girl?"
"I'm not sure"
"Great, what time should I pick you up?"
Lydia smiled. "Seven, I won't fall asleep in the shower this time either"
"You better not" He flirted.
