Who Told You That?

Lydia woke up about 15 times in the middle of the night. Stiles came in once or twice, but he never thought anything of it, he was too tired.
Lydia on the other hand, had an idea in mind.
She creaked his door open.
He fluttered his eyes opened. "You okay?" He asked.
"I have a question.." She sighed.
"At two in the morning?"
"You're right, it can wait." She closed to door halfway, when she was startled by him opening it back up. "What's wrong." He said stern.
"Did the nurse get the results back about any of the thousands of tests?"
"Not sure, why? Have they called? I'm sure you're fine anyway." He rambled.
"Yeah, you're probably right. Get some rest." She patted his chest and walked away.
She closed her door, and slid down it. And broke.
Tears streaming, she was defiantly tired of crying at this point, but she couldn't stop it.
They just kept coming.
There was a soft knock at her door. She hesitated, and thought about ignoring it. But eventually she got up, and answered it.
Stiles stood there, glass of water in one hand, bottle of pep-to in the other.
She smiled and took them.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked again.
"Why do you keep asking me if I'm okay, are you okay?"
"I'm worried..and I'm fine." He took a step forward.
"Don't be Stiles, it's okay, go to bed, you have work tomorrow."
"I can take the day off, to stay here..with you."
Lydia held her hand out, and Stiles looked down, then back up at her and held his out.
Stiles followed her into her room and they sat at the edge of her bed.
"Stay with me tonight?" She put her head on his shoulder.
"Always."
-
Lydia woke the same way she had the day before, except this time in her own room.
Stiles was gone, so it must have been after seven.
She thought about the millions of things she had to do before he got home.
The sun was just barley shinning, and the birds seemed louder than ever.
First things first, shower. She smelled like vomit, and hospital.
How did Stiles not care?
-
When she got out and got dressed, not worrying about the way she looked, especially not where she was going.
She walked out the front door, still half asleep, and feeling like shit.
Scott pulled up into the driveway, especially fast.
"Jesus, Scott slow down!" Lydia yelled and he pulled right up next to her and pulled off his helmet.
"Are you pregnant." He asked, hardly a question.
"What.." Her heart dropped, as well as her mouth.
"Are you pregnant." He repeated
"Who told you that." She stared right through him, not even paying attention to her own words, totally fumbled by his.
"When I came over here yesterday, I heard two heart beats." He paused and looked her up and down. "Did you know?" He sounded out of breath.
She wasn't listening.
"Does Stiles know?" He tried to get her attention.
"No! Don't you dare tell him! I didn't even know!"
"Well he'll be pissed if you don't."
"He'll be pissed if I do!"
Scott didn't say much after that. He just pulled Lydia into a quick, a little too quick hug, and then he left.
Leaving Lydia totally and completely alone.
But then again, she wasn't technically alone.
-
Lydia thought about all the millions of ways she could tell him, write it, just blurt it out..text him? No.
She didn't have to tell him right now, especially if he's at work, he might blow a gasket.
Lydia also thought about all the millions of ways he could react.
She paced back and forth of the drug store line. She wanted to see the little pink plus sign for herself.
"Next." The old lady behind the counter called.
Lydia walked up and set the early pregnancy test down.
"Expecting?" The lady smiled as she rang up the test.
Lydia half-smirked. "Hopefully not." And she took the paper brown bag and, sprinted out of the store, more than likely whacking people with her fifty-pound purse on the way out.
Once she got into the car she turned the air on full blast just sitting there. Trying to take it all in, she blasted the radio and was just about the pull out when someone tapped on the window of the passengers seat. And Lydia rolled it down, while turning the music off at the same time.
"Hi?" Lydia questioned.
"Don't remember me?" The man asked. He had on a deputy uniform, pretty similar to Stiles'.
Lydia shook her head.
"At the hospital? You ran into me?"
"Oh! Yeah. Hi." She waved.
"Sorry to bother you, you look kinda busy, just thought I'd say hey."
"Well hey.." She trailed off.
"Jordan." He replied, then walked off.
Dang, was all Lydia could think of now.
-
Lydia pulled into the driveway, and sure enough, Stiles was already home.
"Grand." Lydia murmured and took the key out of the ignition.
She grabbed the paper bag and stuffed it in her shirt, hoping Stiles wouldn't notice and got out the car, her heels clicked on the pavement, and she opened the front door.
The smell of something with garlic hit her.
She cocked her head. "Stiles?"
"In here." He called, sounding like from the kitchen.
She walked in to see the table completely done up.
"You cook all this?" She gestured over the table.
"I got home early. Since you were gone, I thought I'd take advantage." A smile pulled the corners of his mouth, just a peak of red at the highest points of his cheeks.
Lydia can't ruin this now.
