There are 3 ways of saying "day" in Korean and we're gonna have a look at those today!
일 - il
날 - nal
하루 - ha-ru
When talking about an occasion for example birthday, memorial day and so on, we use "일"
생일 - birthday
현충일 - memorial day
There are corresponds to say "one day", "two days", "three days" and so on. But we don't use those. Instead, we only use "하루" for "one day" and "일":
삼일 - three days
육일 - six days
십일 - ten days
"날" is used when talking about a specific day. For example:
That day - 그 날
On that day - 그 날에
First day - 첫 날
On the first day - 첫 날에
Fourth day - 네번째 날
On the fourth day - 네번째 날에
You're maybe able to see a pattern here: when you wanna say "on" you add "에" after "날", because you're talking about a specific day when you say "on".
That was today's lesson!
I'm open to any questions!
