There are three form of saying "here" and "there" and today we'll be looking at those three forms. One way for "here" and two ways for "there".

여기 - yeo-ki - here
Just like in English, this is used when talking about the place that you are at right now.

거기 - keo-ki - there
This form of "there" is used when talking about a place further away.

저기 - jeo-ki - there
This form of "there" is used when talking about a place that is far away. For example a country it a city. But also if it's a place far away but not next to you or in your eyesight.

저기 is also often used between strangers as "excuse me". For example when you want to stop someone on the street to ask them something or talk to them you can say "저기요!" Or "저기요! 죄송합니다 그런데..." Which translates to "Excuse me! I'm sorry, but..."

Example:

You: 저기요! (Excuse me!)

Stranger: 네? (Yes?)

You: 죄송합니다... 화장실은 어디에요? (I'm sorry where are the toilets?)

Stranger: 저기에요. (They are there.)

Vocabulary:

저기요 = Excuse me (formal)
죄송합니다 = I am sorry
화장실 = Toilet/toilets
-은 = the (must be attached to toilet(s) in a sentence when saying "the toilet(s)". Check out the 는-neun / 은-eun lesson)
어디에요 = Where (formal)
