Astrid's P. O. V:It's been a few days since we'd dealt with Uther's ghost and Merlin and I are in bed, his arms wrapped around my naked body as he lightly runs his fingers against my side. "You're so beautiful," He murmurs, making me smile. I know he doesn't just mean my physical appearance.
"And you're the most handsome, wonderful man I've ever met," I return, brushing back a few strands of his black hair.
Merlin leans forwards and kisses me deeply, the kisses soon turning passionate. He glides his hand over my stomach, making my skin tingle. I press closed against him, no barrier of clothing between us. Merlin and I were still kissing when someone knocks urgently on the door.
"Merlin, Your Grace! There's an emergency—oh!" Gwaine cuts himself off upon seeing me and my husband in bed, sitting bolt upright. I have yanked the blanket up to my shoulders and Merlin grips it tightly as well. A cheeky grin stretches across the knight's lips as he takes in the sight before him.
"What were you saying, Gwaine?" Merlin asks, glaring daggers at him.
"Oh, just that there's an emergency in the castle. Princess Mithian and her maid have arrived and Arthur has summoned for you immediately. Unless, the two of you want me to tell Arthur you're too busy and can't make it?" Gwaine answers, making us widen our eyes.
"No!!" We both exclaim as I wave my hands back and forth.
I say, "We're coming! You, out! Right now!" Gwaine hesitates a moment until I snap, glaring deathly at him, "Out!"
Chuckling, Gwaine turns and exits the house to go back to the castle. I heard an exasperated sigh before exchanging curious looks with Merlin. Why would Mithian be here, at this hour? And what could have happened to her?
For some reason, I have a bad feeling as I get out of bed and get into my green dress with the matching jewellery, my black leather fingerless forearm gloves and my locket around my neck. I brush my hair quickly before I grab my weapons and get Lila, slipping on her pink dress.
We get to the castle and are lead to the bed chamber Mithian was brought to, the brunette unconscious.
Gaius orders, "Astrid, bring blankets. Merlin, build a fire. Hurry now. We must keep her warm at all costs."
I ask before leaving, gazing at my unconscious friend in worry, as I set Lila down, "Is she going to be alright?"
"I'm afraid it's too early to say," The Physician says as he places a hand on Leon's shoulder, the knight having carried Mithian in. I go get the blankets as I hear him add, "Thank you, Leon. You've done all you can."
I return a second later with blankets as Mithian's maid, a hunched over old lady with grey hair and light emerald green eyes, comes over, worry on her face.
"Of course." Leon nods before leaving.
I say to the maid as I put my hand on her shoulder, "I'll have someone show you to your room."
