Chapter~13 You are meant to love him.

"Your existence gives me peace."

Broken.

Yes that's what I felt right now. My heart was beating as fast as a cheetah could've managed to run as sweat beads trickled down my forehead to my cheek almost resembling the salty tears that I hated to let out whatever the situation may be. I didn't even counter back. I just stood there with my eyes wide opened and lips set in a straight line as I fought to reconnect with reality. What was happening to me? It felt like I wasn't even breathing just standing there in an empty void waiting to something to awake me from my comatose state.

And the best part is I don't even know why I felt like that.

Abigail wasn't supposed to feel anything towards him.

My fists returned to being what they were before as I felt my heart beating in my ears, disabling me from hearing any other sound. Honestly, I was enjoying this feeling. Being away from reality was something I'd always wanted and if I could then I would've been far gone.

"Abigail?" I heard a faint voice which seemed quite familiar.

But my voice just wouldn't come out.

"Are you okay?" Another familiar voice caught my interest but I failed to respond yet again.

I continued to gaze at the place where he had just stood in all his glory, disgust rolling off of him in waves and eyes burning with fire.

"You are nothing to me,"

"She's just useless and nothing else,"

"Bringing you here was a mistake that I regret,"

It was as though his words and the way he spoke them was embedded in my mind forever. The whole of my being threatened to fade away just like that. Another bond was broken and it had caused my heart to break into a million little pieces. It was painful to hear it from him...that I was nothing to him.

Black dots and emptiness clouded my vision as I struggled to keep up with the present but failed like I'd failed to save my parents from dying.

"She's gone!" Was the last thing I heard before I gave up and let my eyes close.

My eyes fluttered open all of a sudden as I gasped for the much needed air. Everything was hazy, images and faces mixing up together like they were some sort of an abstract art. Dazzling white light collided with my vision causing a slight headache to erupt. Instinctively, I shut my eyes and turned my face away from the source hoping to get some relief.

"She's awake! Abigail!" Hushed voices reached my ear, grasping my attention.

"Close the curtains," Someone instructed, making me wince.

With my eyes still close, I felt a soft hand stroking my hair slowly just like how my mother used to when I was upset. For a moment I felt at ease and decided to open my eyes slowly, testing my surroundings.

Astonishingly, my vision was better, clearer than before for which I was thankful. Once my eyes were fully opened, they connected with a pair of brown ones which held worry in them.

"Abi? How are you feeling?" the owner of those brown eyes whispered slowly and I knew at once that it was Jade.

When I was about to reply, I realized how constricted and parch my throat felt as if it hadn't had the bliss of water sizzling down it. Noticing my trouble, Jade pressed the cold glass to my lips, tilting it slightly so that it went straight into my mouth without me having to struggle.
