Chapter- 38 Fire
"Are you ready?" Warren asked, eyeing me closely.
I nod my head in affirmation simultaneously releasing a breath of air as I tried not to have a nervous breakdown right here and now. My heart seemed to be beating so rapidly that for a second I thought it would burst or something. Warren probably sensed the amount of anxiety I was going through which is why he said in a low whisper, "It's going to be fine,"
"Please stay here," I requested, watching his lips pull up into a half-smile that I'd always adored for some reason. It made my heart flutter. "I'm right here," he responded, pushing a stray lock of my hair behind my ear so naturally and instinctively that one could've easily conjured up that we were in a relationship.
"Thanks," I murmured a ghost of a smile appearing on my face and I realized that it had been a long while since I last smiled this way and it felt strange because I used to smile and laugh so much back then. Nevertheless it seems like things have changed a lot.
"Come on, Abigail. Ava is ready," Raven called for me from where she was standing under the giant oak tree in their backyard. It was truly massive, its branches spreading out bearing bright greenish-yellow leaves in a picturesque manner.
"Go ahead," Warren urged, giving me a small push forwards and sparing one last look to him, I made my way to Raven and Avalana or should I say-a grumpy Avalana. As soon as I reached them, I found Ava giving me a distasteful glance and I could only reciprocate the expression while on the other hand Raven passed me a breathtaking smile, her eyes lighting up showing her exuberance.
I could ascertain that she was quite exhilarated about all this.
"Give me your hands," Ava barked her order, her words laced with reluctance. I really had the urge to roll my eyes at her childish behavior but decided against it, aware that it would just make things worse.
Instead, I placed both of my hands in hers intrigued and curious as to how this was going to work out. Needless to say but I was all agog as witch craft and magic was something I never had the opportunity to experience firsthand but I always had a notion that it was pretty much interesting.
"I need you to relax and close your eyes as you think of the four elements, each time picturing them in your head in whatever way that you like. Focus, okay?" Raven elucidated, with an encouraging smile plastered on her face and I just muttered a simple 'okay'.
Ava closed her eyes and so did I as I took in a deep relaxing breath and attempted to release the tension in my muscles as best as I could with everything that was swirling inside my head. My ears perked up at the many different sounds that surrounded me and I realized I could hear better. The sound of the wind that whooshed past me, creating a soft whisper and rustle of the leaves, the snapping of the twigs, a distant croaking of frogs and shaking of the bushes as small animals moved past them. It felt like the perfect destination to spend a summer morning, amidst nature and wilderness.
It was exceptionally magical.
A natural element, I totally forgot about that.
I quickly picture water first-it was merely a vast and endless ocean, so deep and blue that it was hard not to admire it's beauty. And then I went on to imagine air basically in the form of a swiftly blowing wind that ruffled with the leaves, the shrubs and whirred past tall trees carelessly.
Next I thought of earth-in all its greenness-the life it supported and the merriment and content it littered everywhere. In the end, I was only left to envisage fire-the intensity with which it burnt, so bright and blazing that it could destroy everything in its reach. It was merciless and dazzled brilliantly and could easily overpower anything.
