Chapter~19 Be my princess.
"I'm in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met."
~PAPER TOWNS (BY JOHN GREEN)
He walked a few centimeters towards me, eyes blazed, concentrated solely on my face whilst I just stood there stock-still trying to tell myself that my theories were totally and utterly incorrect.
Everything was silent as if no one ever existed in this palace. Words couldn't be heard or spoken. I could not help but stare wide-eyed at the person in front of me, whose calculating gaze held me captive.
He stopped a good few inches away from me.
"What happened to you?" He questioned, brows raised. His facade no more appeared bushwhacked. He wasn't exhausted anymore. In fact, I could spot a brand new fire in his eyes, his skin almost glowing with his lips as red as ever.
"Where were you?" I retaliated, my tone astoundingly firm and unwavering.
He tensed for a moment.
"It doesn't matter," was his reply, before he took a step forward, signalling Jade and Callum something with his dark stormy eyes. He took control of my wrist, yanking me towards him. The touch almost ignited the same fire within me, but I was successful at keeping it at bay.
I pulled my hand away from his wrist forcefully, agitated at the fact that he was still trying to control me. Our eyes connected once again, the intensity being the same. His held swirling colors, dark shades of grey. Mine held a string of emotions, struggling for dominance.
"It does matter," I hissed.
He ran a hand through his wild hair and I knew that he was yet again agitated.
"Abigail," Jade began but I held up my hand in front of him signalling him to pause.
"No, not right now Jade," I said, my eyes never leaving Warren's.
"What the fuck do you want?" He snapped.
"I want you to answer this simple question," I countered, a new found confidence entering my body but deep deep down I knew that no matter what Warren would never cease to frighten me with that perilous aura of him.
He closed his eyes momentarily, his body almost shaking with the amount of anger that was bubbling up inside his body.
"I was out in the woods," he answered at last.
A bittersweet smile crept up on my lips, as I took a step back, my eyes shining with the amount of emotions I held within them. They were overflowing. It was as if I was a river about to flood a town. It felt as though I was capable of exploding.
"Killing a wolf?" I taunted, raising an eye brow at him to which he whipped his head in my direction at lightening speed. His eyes held shock in them and I knew I'd managed to get all this right. For the first time in forever, I was right.
"What are you saying?" Callum shouted, swirling me around to face him.
"You don't have to save him," I said, that ruthless image of the shadowed man capturing my mind once again.
Callum's eyes bored through mine, his grip tightening on my shoulders. I flinched momentarily. His jaw was clenched and he had me perplexed for a second. Why didn't he tell me before?!
