Chapter~15 The devil in disguise.

I gulped, nervously.

His deep voice echoed through the serene night, making me close my eyes immediately because ,well, I was afraid. What would he do? No shit Sherlock, I didn't even want to know the answer to that. I would much rather prefer to go jump off in a lake right now if that meant I get to escape Warren's wrath.

As my body trembled due to cool winds constantly blowing, I unknowingly bunched the material of Jade's shirt in my hands. Jade was shocked just like me, and that I could tell because of how taut his muscles had become and how rigid his posture felt beneath my fingers.

Wow, if Jade was afraid then I'm not going to be surprised if all hell breaks loose.

"J-Jade? Are we dead yet?" I asked, hiding my face in his shoulder praying that Warren would some how calm the hell down.

But of course, when are my prayers ever answered?

Jade whispered back sharply, "Do you want me to drop you?"

"No!"

"Then shut up till I deal with him," he grumbled, his hold tightening on me whilst I debated whether to open my eyes. I'm not sure if my poor eyes would be able to bear the daggers that Warren must be throwing my way. But it wasn't as if I had any choice.

"Whatever," I hissed back.

I heard footsteps proceeding our way and if possible, I snuggled even closer to my source of warmth and my knight in shining armor which seemed to erupt a growl from a certain douche bag of a prince who was probably a few inches apart from us.

A shiver ran up my spine, worsening my current situation. It was as if my body was calling out to him as I felt a sudden pull, a need to be near him, to be engulfed in his arms, to be in his presence, to just devour him. Quickly, I shrugged those wild thoughts away, scolding myself for letting his thoughts consume me. That's never going to happen. I won't let it.

"Why the fuck is she in your arms?!" It was Warren's furious voice, a certain depth to it almost causing me to flutter my eyes open from curiosity as well as fear. What would his expressions be like?

Of course, he's not going to welcome you with a 1000 watts smile, you dumb girl. My brain never had enough of its taunting, no matter if I'm being chased by a formula 1 car or about to get beaten by Warren for an unknown reason.

I felt Jade flinch momentarily, before he replied in an astoundingly calm voice, "She's not feeling well,"

I heard silence. Deafening silence and thought that it was going to be the end of me. Trust me, I was tempted to open my eyes to see the scene in front of me, to see Warren, his face because it felt like centuries since I'd not had the fortune to admire his devilishly handsome face.

This nagging feeling in my heart wasn't helping my case at all.

All of a sudden, I felt Jade lowering my legs carefully till they were touching the ground, and in one swift movement I found myself standing beside Jade, eyes already opened and glaring at Jade, whilst he avoided my gaze.

Screw you Jade!

How could he just do that!

Feeling the blood suddenly flow throughout my system, I felt dizzy. My head felt light and my body so fragile, delicate that I was astonished that I was standing on my two feet and not lying on the ground, limp.
