The school day took longer than I expected, as I would occasionally daze out the classroom windows, or fall asleep on top of my books. But eventually, the school bell rang, letting us know that school was over for the day. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes away, as I stood up, grabbed my belongings and left the classroom in a heartbeat.
Today was the day where my parents were going to meet Rachel. At first, I thought how exciting that was, but now, there is a pit in the middle of my stomach, and it has been growing throughout the school day. I am quite nervous to say the least, but this has to be done, right? The same usual questions of what if she finds out about my secret pops into my mind, until someone forcefully shoved me up against the lockers. As I am pulled back into reality, I looked to see who could of done that, only to see Rachel standing there with a smiling face.
"Did I startle you?" She asks with a light giggle.
"Yes, actually." I respond, as I pulled her into a hug.
Rachel giggled into my chest, as we eventually pulled away. Taking her hand, the both of us walked out of the building, where I can feel my lung opening up, letting the sweet autumn air enter inside.
"I'm so excited to meet your parents, Sam. How are they like?" Rachel asked with a sudden outburst.
I sighed, as I ran a hand through my brown hair. "Well," I began. "they can be something; weird, loud, obnoxious. However, they're alright, for a set of loving and caring parents." I responded with a chuckle.
Rachel then stood in front of me, studying my facial expression, and then brought me into her embrace.
"There's nothing to be worried about. I know we'll get along." She told me with a warming smile.
I returned her hug, as I took a deep breath, inhaling her sweet scent of her flowery perfume.
"Alright." I nodded. "I have never brought any of my significant others home before." I mumbled into her strawberry scented hair.
Rachel looked up at me with a wide grin, as she opened up her mouth to speak.
"I'm glad to be your first then." She said, as she started to lean forward, with her eyes closed.
I moved forward as well, knowing exactly what was bound to happen, but as soon as our lips were inches apart, a loud horn exploded into our eye drums. The sound of the horn made my eyes shoot open, as I quickly turned my head to view the scene.
Father's F-150 came into view, with mother in the front seat, and Noah hanging out the back window.
"Sam! Rachel!" Noah shouted, obnoxiously. "What are you love birds doing? Let's go!"
My heart officially dropped to my stomach from embarrassment, as Rachel started to laugh.
"I'm taking they're your parents." Rachel pointed out, as she released the hug, and taking my hand gently. "Let's go, I'm anxious to meet them."
With that, she started to drag me down the sidewalk where the truck was. As soon, as we got close, Noah opened the door and moved all the way over. Helping Rachel inside, I hopped in after her, shutting the door behind, as the truck started to drive down the road.
Mother turned around in her seat, looking at Rachel and I with a huge smile on her face.
Oh dear god...
"Hello, you must be Rachel. Sam talks so much about you." She announced.
Rachel then looked over at me with a smile, as she nodded to my moms question. "Yes I am. It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Bennett." She responded, as she shook my mothers hand.
