   April 3rd

I sat on the floor, as I looked up at the television, that aired Micky Mouse playhouse on the screen. While doing so, I held my bundle of joy close to my body, as she, too, watched the television, intensely. A smile crept upon my face, as she made cute, small noises, here and there.

Looking down, I eyed my baby sister, as she removed her eyes away from Micky and placed them upon me. Her dark, blue eyes sparkled, as her little, light brown hair poked out from underneath her pink hat.

"Lydia!" I sang, as I bounced her gently in my arms.

A small smile appeared across her face, as she continued to make soft noises, just like any baby would do.

Lydia Bee Bennett was born on January 2nd at 4:13AM. She weighted 4 pounds and 5 ouches. Mother had to get an emergency Caesarean section, due to Lydia's umbilical cord being wrapped around her neck. Other than that, Lydia is completely healthy and happy.

Lydia began to gently squirm in my arms, as she started to become fussy. This was usually the time where mother would feed her, so I would not doubt if she is hungry.

"Shh." I cooed the now crying, infant, as I got up from my seat.

I walked over towards the coffee table, as I picked up a small blanket, before walking up the stares, where I knew mother was at. I gently knocked on her door, before pushing it open. Mother was folding laundry, as she turned to look at Lydia and I, with a smile planted across her face.

"Mama's here, to save the day!" I joked, as I handed Lydia and the blanket to her.

Mother nodded her head in agreement. "That is right!" She laughed. "Duty calls, so the best big sister in the world needs to leave, pronto!"

"Alright, alright." I chuckled, as I exited the room, closing the door behind.

As soon as the door clicked shut, the loud ringing of my phone rang from down stairs, signaling that someone was calling me. I quickly bolted down the stairs, as I grabbed my phone that sat on the arm of the couch. I looked at the caller I.D., as I quickly pressed the green button, before placing it up to my ear.

"Hey, baby!" I spoke, as I sat on the couch.

"Hey!" Rachel called back. "Are you busy by any chance?" She asked.

I shook my head, knowing that she couldn't see me. "For once, I'm not. What's up?"

Rachel let out a small sigh, as she hesitated to answer right away. "Um..." She began. "I was wondering if you could pick me up, and we could drive around for a little bit. I need to talk to you about a few things, if that's alright with you?"

My heart skipped a beat, as my nerves began to become sore. "Of course, it's alright. Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yes, everything's alright. I just think we need to talk about a few things, since you've been busy lately. This may be the right time to talk."

After Lydia was born, I had picked up another job. Not only do I work at the small diner, in town, but now I work in a nightclub in Vegas. I'm that person that brings over drinks, to the ones who are too lazy or drunk to walk over to the bar themselves. I also have to make small talk with everybody, as the perverted men and women try to get with me. I've learned to laugh and shrug it off. However, the reason why I've picked up this job, was because I got accepted to college; UCLA.

I received my letter a couple months ago, and all I remember was mother and Rachel bawling their eyes out, and Father cheering for me, saying how proud he was. Me, on the other hand, just stood there, frozen, like an idiot. I was just too shocked to move.
