"You're such an idiot!" I groaned, as I covered my face with my hands. "You need to make a move before you leave for college." I pointed out, as I dropped my hands to my side.

"I know, I know!" Noah mumbled, as he ran a hand through his hair. "What if she doesn't like me anymore?" He suddenly asked.

I stopped dead in my tracks, as I raised an eyebrow towards his direction. Noah stopped too, as he turned to face me.

Is he serious?!

"Dude!" I shouted, throwing my hands in the air. "Maria has been talking about you since you asked Rachel to take her to Homecoming!" I protested. "I'll never forget that day either..." I grumbled, as I crossed my arms and stared down at the side walk.

Noah sent me a questionable glare, before his face relaxed, as he let out a small tsk. "I'll never forget that day either." He agreed, as he being to walk again. "The look on your face was priceless once you arose from the water!"

I scoffed, as I rolled my eyes. "Jerk." I mumbled, as I trailed behind him. "Seriously though!" I cleared my throat, as we walked side-to-side once again. "Talk to her more, and take her as your prom date! I'm pretty sure she'll appreciate that!" I explained, as we walked up to our house.

"You're right. I shoot her a text when we get inside. Then I'll think of a way to ask her to prom." Noah spoke, before pushing the door open.

I followed him inside, as I shut the door behind. Once I took off my shoes, I opened my mouth to speak, but quickly smashed my lips shut, as I froze in my spot.

My mother sat on the couch, with her head in her hands. Her shoulders trembled, as small sniffles were heard. Father sat next to her, as he had an arm wrapped around her shoulder for comfort. His expression was calm, yet worrisome.

"Is everything alright?" Noah broke the silence, as he slowly walked over towards our parents.

Mother slowly lifted her head up, exposing her puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. She shook her head for a moment, but suddenly changed it into a nod. Her eyes trailed back and forth between Noah and I, as a small smile appeared across her face; happiness, yet fear was obviously shown.

"I need you two to sit down." She cleared her throat, as she sat up straight. "Your father and I have some news to share."

Without hesitation, Noah sat next to her on the couch, while I slowly dragged my feet across the hardwood floor. I plopped down into the recliner chair, as my heart pounded nervously against my rib cage, wondering what the news could be. Silence rose above us, as Noah and I placed our undivided attention towards our parents.

10 seconds of silence passed, as Mother took a deep breath before letting out a low laugh. "I have no other way to tell you two this, so I am just going to be blunt and straight forward."

Noah and I glanced at each other, before returning them onto mother, and giving her a simple nod, wanting her to continue.

Mother leaned back into the couch cushion, as she sighed lightly. "I'm pregnant." She blurred without warning.

Noah and I froze in our seats, as our eyes grew. "You're kidding?" I spoke, as I leaned forward, wanting to know more.

Mother laughed a bit louder, as she shook her head back and forth. "Nope. This old lady is definitely pregnant." She joked.

Noah scoffed, as he shook his head. "36 years isn't old!"

I nodded my head in agreement, as I eyed my mother's stomach; flat. She's probably a month or two apart? That I wasn't sure about. All I could do was smile lightly at the fact that Noah and I were going go have another brother or sister.

"That's amazing new!" I cheered. "I just don't understand why you look so upset about it." I pointed out, as a frown appeared across my face.

Mother's small smile faded, as she let out a sigh. "Well," She began. "Your father and I weren't expecting this to happen. We don't have room in the house for another, and we'll have to work double just to get him or her started." Mother lightly groaned, as she ran a shaky hand through her long, brown hair. "Here's a lesson for the two of you; condoms break and even though birth control is wonderful, it'll fail. Not for every person, but most." She explained.

The moment mother's mouth clamped shut, Noah stood on his feet, as he looked down at mother, who looked up at him in shock.

"Mother, father," Noah started. "I'm leaving for college in August," He reminded us. "Use my bedroom for the baby. I definitely won't need it once I'm off."

Once Noah stopped talking, I also stood up, but not as fast as Noah did.

"You guys have amazing children who'll help you out, which is why I'll be getting a job for not just myself, but for you two, and my new baby brother or sister." I announced, as I walked over and stood next to Noah.

Mother and father looked at me, as if I was going insane. "Sam, we appreciate that, but that won't be necessary." Father told, waving his hands forward.

I shook my head. "It'll be necessary. Clearly you guys are in need of help. I may be 17, but I don't wish to see my parents suffer." I told.

"And neither do I." Noah chirped in, as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

Our parents glanced up at us for awhile, before they broke out into smiles. Noah and I smiled back, as we fell into a group hug.

"Congratulations!" Noah and I blurred as we hugged mother and father even tighter.
