(UPDATE: EDITED)

The red numbers of my alarm clock read 9:20 P.M., as I relaxed in bed, waiting patiently for my parents to fall asleep. I looked up at the ceiling, with one arm draped over my head, and the other across my stomach. My mind began to race at the thought of sneaking out to go to this party with Noah. I chuckled out loud to myself, as I shook my head lightly. I never thought I would ever sneak out of the house, during the late hours of the night, but you know what they say;  bad decisions make good stories.

I stopped chuckling, as I listened carefully. The sound of the living room television discontinued, and the footsteps of my parents slowly made their way up the stares. On cue, I quickly shut off my lamp, as I pulled the thick blankets over my small figure. Just as expected, my parents did their nightly routine; checking up on Noah and I, before they headed off to bed. My bedroom door slowly creaked open, as I pretended to be in a deep sleep.

"Sound asleep already? It's unusual for her to go to bed early on Friday nights, let along any night."
My dad spoke softly to my mother, who stood beside him.

"Maybe because you got a little upset earlier and grounded her over a ridiculous reason. You know how upset Samantha gets every time you shame her for how she dresses. She feels comfortable, and you should respect that, she is your daughter after all." My mother whispered, loudly, as I could mentally see her shaking her head at him. "You should have not grounded her for such horrid reason. If she wants to walk around town, looking like a male, she can. This is who she is." Mother added.

I smiled lightly, as she stood up for me. I'm glad I have a mother who respects my decisions. I couldn't be anymore thankful for that. Now all that's left is to get my father on board.

"I guess you're right..." My heart raced, as those words left my fathers lips, and I continue to eavesdrop into their conversation. "I guess I was a bit too harsh today," He spoke. "I think tomorrow morning, we should have a family breakfast and do something with the kids. I'll also lift her grounding, as well." He finished.

The sweet, soft sound of a kiss was heard from my parents.

"That sounds like a lovely idea. I bet Sam would appreciate it if you did that." My mother spoke softly, as her footsteps echoed quietly across the soft carpet, and over to my bed.

My mother kissed the top of my head, as she tucked me in more, before walking away with father, and closing the door behind. I opened my eyes, as the entire room was engulfed in darkness.

I laid in bed a little longer, as I listened to my parents footsteps walk down the hall. Their bedroom door opened, and then closed. Everything fell silent; you could hear a pin drop from the basement, that's how quiet it was.

I sat up, as I pushed the heavy blanket to the side. I swung my legs over, as my feet touched the soft carpet. I stood up straight, as I quietly walked over to my lamp, and I turned it on. The faint orange light illuminated off my dark blue walls. I stretched my arms, as I looked over at my alarm clock once again; 9:33 P.M..

I walked over to my closet, as I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans, with a black and red flannel shirt. In addiction, I grabbed a red beanie, my favorite red vans, and a new pair of boxers. I stripped out of my large t shirt, and fuzzy, green flannel pajama pants, as I changed into my new clothes. Once I was dressed, I styled my hair, to where it was spiked up at the top, but straight down near my ears. I then, lightly coated myself in AXE just before I checked myself out in my mirror, that hung behind my bedroom door.

I jokingly gawked at myself for a few minutes, before turning my vision to the time; 9:46 P.M.. I quietly walked around my room, as I grabbed my cell phone, and hoodie, before shutting the lamp off. I walked through the dark room, as I placed my hand forward, touching the cold, metal doorknob, before turning it. I walked out of the room, before shutting the door behind and tip toed down the stairs. While I was walking, my phone buzzed, signaling that I had just received a text message.
