Two Months Later...

December flew by quickly, as the green leaves began to chance and fall ever so peacefully to the soil. The hot Nevada heat slowly decreased, as the citizens replaced their summer clothes, to sweaters, jackets and jeans. The wind today wasn't too harsh, but if you didn't hold onto your cap, it could possibly be blown away with the windy current.

Rachel and I strolled down the sidewalk in silence, as our hands were interlocked with each others. Our relationship has been strong over the past couple of months. We'll occasionally bicker here and there, but nothing too seriously. Some say we're inseparable; nothing could ever pull us apart. However, is it harsh of me to say that I beg to differ? I mean- yes, we've been through a lot over the past two months... But seriously... it's only been two months. After all, anything could happen, but I've learned to keep my mouth shut about it, as I've learned for experience, the compliments that we receive from others brings her joy.

Rachel and I turned down my street, as we headed to my house, on this chilly Friday evening. It was Zach's (Rachel's douche of a brother) birthday, and their parents invited me to his party. However, after the first major incident with Rachel and I, Zach and I either sent daggers at each other, or argued when their parents weren't around. It didn't help that his friends were there, backing him up with more stuff to throw at me. Once Rachel found us fighting in the hall, as asked if we could leave. Fortunately, her parents agreed and we were able to be on our own.

"I'm sorry about Zach." Rachel sighed, as she shook her head in disappointment. "He never let's the past go. It's irritating." She mumbled, as she squeezed my hand in reassurance.

I shook my head, as I keep my eyes forward. "Don't be sorry. I'm sorry that he can't figure out insults alone." I chuckled, as I turned my head and glanced at her from the right.

Rachel snored, as she shook her head once again. "Seriously." She mumbled, as she looked up at me. "'You're the ugliest boy in the universe. What does my sister see in you?'" Rachel mocked, as she let out another sigh. "My cousin has some better insults up her sleeve, and she's only 3 years old!" She pointed out, as she let out a small laugh.

I raised my eyebrow, as a smirk formed across my face. "Do you think your cousin gives free classes for insulting people?" I asked. "Because I'd join in a heart beat."

"Knowing my cousin, she'll make you pay with either cookies or candy." Rachel admitted, as she approached my house.

"Well," I began to speak, as I turned the knob of my front door and pushed it open. "She'll love me then, because I'll have a ton of cookies and candies for her when I meet her." I chuckled, as invited her inside.

"Trust me," Rachel spoke up, as she placed her lips upon my cheek. "You'll be her best friend after that." She added, as she made her way inside.

I stepped inside my house, shutting the door behind. Cheers and cries of my mother and father rang into my ears, as my eyes trailed forward towards the commotion. Rachel and I stared at them in confusion, as they engulfed Noah in their embrace.

"Uh..." I coughed, as I kicked off my shoes. "I'm home, and I brought Rachel over too." I announced, not removing the confused expression from my face.

Mother, father and Noah turned to face us, as the smiles on their faces were enormous, which frightened me deeply. However, Rachel let out a laugh, as she opened her mouth to speak.

"What's going on? Why are you guys so ecstatic?" She asked, as she placed a hand upon her hip.

My parents turned their attention away from us, as they released their embrace from Noah. Noah approached Rachel and I, as he pulled us into a tight hug.
