"Can you explain to the class, why you didn't finish your homework?" Mrs. Scott, my Forensics teacher demanded, as she looked down at me.

I hung my head in shame, not responding to her question. I mean- what was I even suppose to tell her?

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't do my homework because my father didn't pick me up from school yesterday. Why? Because silly ol' me decided to go to a party with my brother and chose the road that involves drinking. Yes, I'm only 16 years old. I am quite aware that I could have been arrested, fined and such. I also know that I could have either put myself in the hospital, or killed myself, I know, I know. Let me also remind you, that I am still fairly new to Paradise, NV. I don't know where everything is located, including my own home. I walked around for 30 minutes last night to look for it, and when I got home, my parents didn't even care that I was wandering the streets by myself. Hell, I even skipped dinner because I am currently an emotional mess. Let's not even get onto the topic of my super duper secret, because if ANYBODY finds out, I could be shamed and disliked for the rest of my life.

I could sense Mrs. Scott's eyes burn on top of my head, as I slowly looked up. Her expression was hard and stern, but suddenly softened, as she let out a small sigh.

"Please stay awhile after class." Mrs. Scott stated. "I would like to have a talk with you." She finished, as she turned around, walking back to her desk.

My fellow classmates looked at me surprised, as most did their childish 'Oooooh! You're in trouble!' noises. I simply just rolled my eyes, as I laid my cheek in the palm of my hand.

"Yes, Mrs. Scott." I sighed in defeat.

Mrs. Scott began her lecture about dusting figure prints and testing DNA in blood. She showed us photos, and small video clips. At the end, we had to watch a 30 minute forensics episode, as we were forced to take notes. Just as I was about to write down one more note from the film, the bell rang, as everybody grabbed their belongings and either went to lunch or 4th period. I took my belongings, as I shoved them inside my backpack, and I leaned back in my seat, waiting for Mrs. Scott.

As soon as the entire class was empty, Mrs. Scott walked towards me, as she sat in the desk in front of me. Her expression was soft, as a mix of worry and concern spread across her face.

"I noticed you haven't been yourself lately." Mrs. Scott pointed out, as she leaned forward, placing her elbows on my desk. "Has everything been alright?"

I sunk in my seat, as I flashed a nervous grin. First, Coach notices something wrong, and now Mrs. Scott. I bet my other teachers are going to approach me, eventually. I started to think about what to say though. Should I explain everything that has been happening, since I have moved here, or should I keep silent?

You know, telling one teacher isn't going to hurt. Plus, you'll feel a hundred times better if you open up.

Maybe I should. I mean- what is one teacher going to do? Expel me because of something that had happened last week? Tell every single teacher that I am secretly a female? Probably not, but this weight that sits on my shoulders everyday is starting to give me back problems.

I let out a small sigh, as I looked into her light brown eyes. I slowly gave in.

"Alright, I tell you, but please don't tell anybody else. No teachers, no students, not even the principal..." I spoke. "Not even your family at home. I'm going to tell you everything that is bothering me. Only because I have no one else to go to..." I explained carefully.
