"This is the place." Zenji said. Leading the way into an underground hideaway a few miles away one cold early morning. The place was eerily quiet and desolate, not to mention it was dark since the sun hasn't come up as of yet. Yuuto and I lit small flames of fire as Zenji took us towards an entrance and try to pick the lock, but it creaked open.

"That's odd." Zenji muttered.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Normally it would be closed shut," Zenji answered. We slowly entered, as meeting two empty jail cells, "I don't get, she should be here!"

"Are you sure this is the right place?" I asked.

"I've been here countless times." Zenji replied annoyed.

Yuuto places a hand on Zenji's shoulder, "Don't worry, we'll figure out another way."

We headed back to the park avoiding the Equalists and their supporters as they gathered for a rally. Yuuto pushed aside a clump of bushes blocking a small clearing with a large rock in the center. Using earthbending, I moved the rock to the side revealing a large manhole, and both jump inside as the rock slides back over.

We met Asami and Bolin, who are sitting on crates. Asami is watching in amusement as Bolin plays with Pabu. Asami looks up to see us, "Your back, have you found your missing mother?"

"Sadly no." Zenji answered, "And I was sure we would find her there too."

"Maybe we haven't check all the Equalist hideouts." I suggested.

"You're right." Zenji agreed cupping his chin in thought, "There is Mr. Sato's underground workshop, and the prison where Amon holds his special victims."

"We'll search for her there then." Yuuto spoke. Zenji and I nod.

Just then I heard some voices behind me, " I hate this "being patient" stuff."

I turned seeing Korra, and Mako coming back from their mission, "You two were gone a while." Asami said.

Mako frowned, " We were doing reconnaissance."

Asami rolls her eyes, "Whatever."

Korra glances at me, I shrugged not knowing what to do. Gommu, a kind, and generous homeless person, intervened, "Welcome back! Hope you worked up an appetite, 'cause dinner is served."

We sat around a large tree trunk, while Gommu passes around some bowls of gruel.

"Thanks so much for letting us hide out with you the past few days."

"Honored to oblige." Gommu replied to Korra as he hands her a bowl, "My associates and I heartily oppose Amon's so-called "Equalist" policies.  We got benders and nonbenders living together down here, but do you see us fightin'? No siree; we've figured out how to harmoniously co-exist." he said wrapping his arms around himself.

"You are a wise and noble hobo." Bolin compliments as he eats some stew, "Mmmm. This is the best-tasting street gruel I've ever had. Seriously!"

"I culled it from the finest dumpsters the city has to offer!"

Welp there goes my appetite, I thought as Asami and I slowly spat out our gruel and place the bowls behind us.

Later that night I sat outside of the sewer, watching Amon's airships encircle Air temple Island. I hated feeling helplessness and I hated being patient. But what can you do to stop an evil tyrant? I tried to strategies mentally, but one after the other it would lead to the same outcome. Amon taking away my bending. I thought about Tenzin and his family. Specifically little Rohan. It was sad that he was born in a time where the Equalists were at their most powerful. But at least they were safe. Away from harm.
