Chapter 1
"Okay, now try it again."
The little boy punched two balls of fire with a crescent moon kick until he stumbles onto the ground.
"Urgh! This is hard." moaned my eleven year old cousin Aki, "I wanna learn that special move you did when you were a Fire Ferret."
I sighed then looked around to see if anyone was watching or coming towards us, "Okay, I'm going to teach you one move. But that all. Okay?"
Aki's eyes twinkled and nodded. I showed him what I knew since it was a pretty long time since I've been in the ring. To my surprised he picked it up really quickly. He reminded me of Korra when she was his age. I remembered it like it was yesterday. We sort of had a rocky start at first, but overtime our friendship blossomed. It's been two weeks since I've left Republic City. Korra told me that she's in a relationship with Mako. Though it did sting that Mako was off the market, I, as the thoughtful friend that I am congratulated them. But deep inside it felt a little rushed.
"That was amazing cousin Yukari!" Aki exclaimed.
"You seemed to be doing well."
I turned to find Iroh, his wife Aiko and their newborn son Izuko, along side my mother.
"Thank you so much for agreeing to teach my son firebending." Aiko said.
"It's no problem at all." I replied with a smile.
Aki run towards his parents, "Mama, Papa guess what, Yukari taught me..." I cleared my throat a gave him a look, hoping he wouldn't tell his parents what it did, "I mean Yukari taught me the basics of fire bending." he corrected, finishing off with a big smile.
Thanks a lot, I thought as Iroh raised his brow suspiciously, "Well anyway. Pack your bags, you're heading back to Republic City to go to the South Pole."
"What for?"
"We were invited to attend the Glacier Spirits Festival and Tenzin wanted us to be with him and his family at the Southern Air Temple." Zeina explained, "The reason where stopping at Republic City is to pick up your uncle Hayato and aunt Haruka."
"Are you or aunt Izumi coming?" I asked Iroh.
"Sorry, since Izuko was just born a few days ago, it wouldn't be a good idea to take him in cold weather. And mother is very busy with diplomatic affairs."
"Oh. Okay." I answered.

That night I was in my room almost dozing off until I heard the door slowly creaked open.
"Yukari, are you awake."
"Aki? What are you doing up? It's the middle of the night."
"I...I couldn't sleep." he told me timidly.
"You had a bad dream?"
He confirms with a nod. I sat up in my bed, "Why don't you go to Mama and Papa."
He then shook his head, "Can you sing that lullaby?"
I sighed, "Fine, but we're going to your room."
While there, I tucked him in his head closed my eyes trying to remember that song.
In the span of time we live out our lives
Calmness sweeps us off our feet.
In the end, we're left with memories kept
Locked away, as they spiral down and fade away from thee
