We hurried back to the island meeting Chief Beifong along with my siblings.
"Dad! Yukari!" Jinora exclaimed running towards us.
Tenzin dismounts and embraces them, "Oh, thank goodness you're all right!"
Meelo climbs onto Tenzin's shoulder and pulls on his father's head, "Yukari, we caught the bad guys!"
"You did?" I asked.
"You let them fight? Do you realize what could have happened?"
"I would have been toast if it weren't for your kids." Chief Beifong admitted folding her arms, "You should be proud. You taught them well." Tenzin looks down at the young ones, and softens, " Go on, be with your wife."
We walked inside to the house to hear the sound of a baby's cry. I slowly poked my head. Tenzin holds a new born in his arms, while Ikki, Jinora and Meelo sat close to him.
"Welcome, I'm Ikki, and this is Jinora and Meelo and over there is your big sister Yukari. We have a super great family and we're so happy that you're a part of it."
I froze as tears filled my eyes, Pema looks up and sees me, "Come and meet your new brother."
"B-But I'm not--"
"Even though we're not connected by blood, it doesn't mean you're still not apart of this family." Pema interupted. I slowly made my way inside, meeting the new baby.
"Um...hi." I said nervously. As I touched his cheeks he grabs on to my finger. I gasped in surprise as a tear flows down my face.
"What're you gonnau name him?" Jinora asked. "Can I pick?"
"We already chose a name." Pema said, resting her head on Tenzin's shoulders.
"Rohan." Tenzin finishes.
I turned seeing Chief Beifong, Korra, and Mako. I could tell in Korra's eyes that something was wrong, "I'm so sorry to interrupt, but more airships are coming."
The room was quiets except for the coos of baby Rohan. "Everything's not gonna be fine, is it, Daddy?" Ikki asked worriedly.
I quickly went into my room and took the box that stored Kyoshi's fans and met the others outside watching as another Equalist airship slowly approaches us.
"What do you want to do, Tenzin?"
Tenzin sighs, " I need to protect my family, and get them as far away from this conflict as possible. If Amon got his hands on my children ... I hate to even think of it."
"If you're leaving, then I'm going with you." Lin spoke up.
"But-"
"No arguments." interupted the chief, "You and your family are the last airbenders. There's no way in the world I'm letting Amon take your bending away."
"Thank you, Lin. Korra, I want you to leave this island and hide for the time being." he tells Korra.
" I'm not giving up." Korra replied determined.
"I'm not asking you to. I sent word to the United Forces. They will be here soon. And once my family is safe, I will return. With the reinforcements, we can turn the tide in this war."
"What you're saying is, we need to be patient." Korra sighs.
" You're learning well." Tenzin said, placing his hand on Korra's shoulder, "Stay safe Korra."
"You too." Korra responded.
As Tenzin helped me up onto the bison I stopped for a moment, staring back at Yuuto's soulful eyes, and stopped him.
"What is it?" Tenzin instructed.
"I....I'm staying...dad." I told him.
"What?" Tenzin asked.
"Chief Beifong is right." I told him, "You are the last Airbenders in the entire world. And if something happens to you or them, then the world would be even more out of balance." I enveloped his hands, "You taught me everything there is to know about the air nomads, and airbending. And I appreciate the advice you gave me when I needed it most. But now, I'm the Sansar and I need to be with Korra and the team in stopping Amon."
"But, what if I never see you again?" Tenzin asked.
"Then..." I embraced him in a tight hug, "Thanks, for all you've done for me."
"So does this mean you're not coming with us?" Ikki asked.
I twirled as a small gale propelled me upwards onto the bison, "No, but I promise to see you all again." I said while hugging them, "And be good to one another or else I'll come from the dead and haunt you all!" I said tickling Meelo and Ikki playfully.
I went over to Pema and gave my last kiss on the cheek, "Goodbye baby Rohan." I said kissing the baby on the forehead. I then turned to Chief Beifong and nod. She nods back and gives a small yet soft smile.
Once I descended from the bison, I embraced Tenzin one last time, "I'm really going to miss you, but I know that you'll be in safe hands."
"I know. Goodbye daddy." I said wrapping my arms around him as tears flowed down my face.
"Goodbye my little girl." he replied kissing me on the head.
"Tenzin, if we're leaving, we'd better do it now." Beifong says sternly.
Tenzin propels himself onto Oogi, "Oogi, yip yip!" The sky bison fly away from the island. I wiped away the last tear from my eye. At least they're safe, I thought. Suddenly, a cable hits the floor. As more airships invade the island. The White Lotus guards run in front of us and take their stances.
"Go! We'll hold them off!" Said one of the sentries.
Korra leaps onto Naga, "Everyone, climb on!" Mako, Bolin and Asami hop onto Naga.
"Wait, what about Yukari, Yuuto, and Zenji?" Mako asks.
"Just go, we'll find another way." I said.
Korra nods, " Let's go, girl!" Naga runs away as more Equalists come down and encircle the White Lotus sentries, spinning their bolas as they begin to fight.
We hurried down the path east of the island towards the docks. Just then as we were entering the boat, two Equalists guards come charging towards us. With swift and sharp movements, Yuuto lightning bends electrocuting the guards as I waterbend a wave that took us away from the island. We caught up with Korra and the others in a large drainage pipe near the bay. I watched in horror as Equalists surrounded my home. But at least Tenzin and the rest are finally away from danger. I felt a hand on my shoulder as Yuuto comforts me, "Let's go."
As I walked further, I turned behind me see Mako consoling Korra. So he really does have feelings for her. At least he's over me I guess.
