I came back with some tea to give to the White Lotus members, then rushed back to Tenzin and Korra. Korra was telling Tenzin about what happened at the pro-bending match last night.

"And, in the final round, the Buzzard Wasps won with a decisive knockout!" Korra said reading a newspaper out loud. "What do you say we go to the arena tonight, catch a few pro-bending matches?"

"That sport is a mockery of the noble tradition of bending." Tenzin said dismissively taking a cup of tea of my hands.

"Come on, Tenzin! I've dreamed about seeing a pro-bending match since I was a kid, and now I'm just a ferry ride away from the arena." Korra said pointing behind her.

"Korra, you're not here to watch that drivel. You're here to finish your Avatar training." mandated Tenzin. "So, for the time being, I want you to remain on the island."

"Is that why you're keeping the White Lotus sentries around, to watch my every move?" Korra asked annoyed.

"Yeah, I don't think I have enough tea or hot buns for all of them." I joined looking down at the bear tray I was holding.

"Yes. In order to learn airbending I believe you require a calm, quiet environment, free from any distractions."

"All right, you're the master."

Korra turned to face the arena with a longing in her face, it was understandable since she was cooped up on this island with nothing to do other than train.

Later, we walked outside towards our first session on airbending. Ring-tailed flying lemurs soars by, chittering as we continued on.  I wore a long flowing airbender robe while Korra wears a typical air nomad attire.

"Hey how come you can wear that get-up while I wear these things?" Korra questioned me, I shrugged my shoulders in reply.

"So, my mother informed me that you've never been able to airbend before." As Tenzin mentions that, Korra stops in her tracks and sighs deeply. I turned to see Korra's disappointing expression and so does Tenzin.

"Yeah, but I don't know why." Korra answered, "The other elements came so easily to me,  but every single time I've tried airbending- nothing." she said, making a raspberry sound.

"That's perfectly all right. You just need to be patient." Tenzin said, placing his hand on Korra's shoulder, and starts to roll down the sleeves on Korra's attire, "Often the element that's the most difficult for the Avatar to master is the one most opposite to the Avatar's personality. For Aang, it was earthbending."

"And for Avatar Roku, it was water bending." I added, Tenzin nods in agreement. Korra glances at the ground, " Yeah. Well, I'm about as opposite an airbender as you can get."

"You'll do great, besides, Air bending isn't that complex so you'll pick it up very easily." I said with a smile.

"Let's begin your first lesson." Tenzin says, as he continues walking, I turned to see Korra who hung her head in doubt. We continued on meeting Ikki, Meelo, and Jinora, who was happy to see Korra.

"Korra's gonna airbend! Korra's gonna airbend!" Ikki exclaimed excitedly.

"What is that contraption?" Korra asked, slightly amused by the a circle filled with several wooden gates, all standing in a different directions to one another.

"A time-honored tool that teaches the most fundamental aspect of airbending." Tenzin answered, "Jinora, would you like to explain this exercise?"

" The goal is to weave your way through the gates and make it to the other side without touching them." Jinora explained.
