The legend of Korra: The Sansar Returns

Chapter 8

I stood there in shock, hearing the news that the Earth Queen was suddenly killed by Zaheer and the Red Lotus. Questions filled my mind wondering if Mako and Bolin were alright. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash from outside. Korra, Asami, and I rushed towards the noise seeing Mako, Bolin, and a small crowd. 

"Asami! Korra! Yukari!" Bolin exclaimed as he ran towards Asami and Korra. While Mako get up and hugs me, taking me aback for a moment.

"Sorry. I was just- It's so good to see you." Mako stammered.

"It's good to see you too. Both of you." I said, as I turn and placed a hand on Bolin's arm. 

"Good. You guys aren't dead." The chief said as she exited the cantina along with Yuuto, Lord Zuko, Tonraq, and Asahi.

"Don't get all mushy on me, Chief." Mako replied smiling slightly, and bows towards the others, "Tonraq. Asahi. Sir."

"Oh my gosh, it's Lord Zuko! I can't believe it." Bolin said, trying to suppress his high laughs of excitement. I sighed shaking my head while smiling to myself.

Mako rolls his eyes and pulls his brother to the side, "Forgive my brother. We're just really honored to meet you, Sir." the brothers bow in respect of Lord Zuko. 

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well." Zuko replied and bowed. 

Just then an older lady walks up to me and holds my hand, "You must be the Avatar and Sansar. Mako told me so much about you two. You are even more beautiful than I imagined." 

Asami and I smiled awkwardly while giving each other a glance. But before I  could explain, Mako brings in Korra "Uh, actually, that's Asami. This is Avatar Korra. Korra, Yukari, this is my grandma, Yin." 

Yin holds Korra's hand then her arms, "You are very muscular for a woman." 

"Uhm, thanks. You too?" Korra responded, not sure whether it was a compliment or an insult.

"What lovely young women. Mako, why aren't you dating any nice girls like them, especially this one." she said holding my hand. 

Suddenly I felt my face begin to burn. Quickly yanked my hand away, and cleared my throat, "So what happened to you two? I hear that Zaheer captured you and brought you to the Earth Queen."

"He did, and we were there when the Queen was overthrown." Mako answered.

"What? How did you escape?" Korra asked, Mako turned to her.

"Zaheer let us go." Mako explained. 

"And why would he do that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. 

"Zaheer is headed to the Northern Air Temple as we speak. He said he's gonna wipe out the new Air Nation and everyone in it. Unless Korra turn herself over to him." Mako explained. My eyes widened in shock and turned to Korra who had a surprised expression. 

"Zaheer's threatening innocent lives just to get to me." Korra said in a serious tone.

"He could be bluffing." Tonraq added.

"He's already taken out the Earth Queen. I don't think he bluffs." Mako countered.

"And not to mention that he's on his way to the Northern Air Temple." Yuuto added.

"We need to radio Tenzin and warn him that the Red Lotus is coming." I said suggested, Mako turns to me.

"I agree. Unfortunately, we don't have a radio on the airship."  Mako said frustratedly. 

"There's a portable radio on the jeep, but the signal will never make it to the Northern Air Temple." Tonraq said.

"We need to get to a place that has a strong radio transmitter." Lin said.
